Well this morning hell froze over, no I'm not talking about the lil dusting of snow.

The doorbell rang, and there stood a UPS man. He had with him some KTM950 bars I had won in an eBay auction. He handed me the box and I was thinking, "Here we go, he's gonna ask for $38 in clearing fee's for a item I paid $27US" BUt nope, he handed me the box, I signed for it and he left I had asked the seller to send US Postal Service, but he sent UPS.

There is hope afterall.

glad to see you're joing the adv club, i tell ya that lornce guy can certainly corrupt a few rides with him on his GSPD, and all i wanted was a dual sport! LOVING my adventure, i even took the S1 off the road this year as i dont anticipate riding at all

thats a sweet looking bike - what size tank is that looks HUGE! hopefully a few short week before we go on our first ride...

Gotta love working at a college, we get snow days. It's like grade 6 all over again, only with less wedgies. ( I consider that a plus, but some are into it I guess...)

When you ship a package to the US via UPS there's a section on the waybill that allows you to specify that UPS handle brokerage into the USA. If you don't fill that out, the guy on the recieving end gets UPS America's version of our rude UPS Canada welcome. As long as a package is valued below $200 you can fill that box out and have UPS handle "brokerage".

I believe there's a similar option when packages ship to Canada from the US, BUT the sender must be aware and fill in the waybill correctly, and I think the limit is $20 coming this way.

Of course, UPS doesn't make this obvious OR tell you when you phone them for a parcel pick-up.

Just my luck. The day before I blow up my bike I buy a Savanna 2 jacket instead of a red Stich then this baby comes along for $150. Bugger!

Apparently, not too many of them made it to Canada, but it seems pretty cool.

$414 $1,000,000 liability, comprehensive, fire, no collision

41 years old, married, 2 kids, North Bay, ON, riding one year, M2 licence, no (collision) accidents, 1 comprehensive vehicle writeoff (moose accident), no tickets for last 6 years.

I got my renewal, then called around an shaved 300$ off of that... $640 1 Million liab. Collision/fire/ theft.. M Permit, 05 dl 650.
