Mine won't be here for 3 more weeks and yet there's one so close I can touch it.

Try these two guys. They may not be the least expensive out there, but it's because they specialize in graphics for automotive applications.

I've not had the chance to use them myself but they do come well recommended by business associates.

Doesn't look like I'm going to make the Sunday ride... unfortunately. If anything changes I'll let you know.

I was thinking of meeting at the north east corner of Coppins Corners (Cty Rd 21 & 1) at around 10:45 am and depart at 11:00 am (remember I'm punctual and will leave without you). I will plot a route this morning, which will be mostly gravel roads, with some pavement. I heading east to dine at the Pink Rhino in Bewdley (biker hang-out) and will swing around back towards the Stouffville area.

Dennis, I would think the ride will be a couple of hours the bench-racing told at lunch could be longer.

If you are attending and have a GPS I will send you the Garmin file , just email me.

Mind if I tag along? I'll be in a KLR650 and will have a Garmin GPS.

Send me the GPS file - I am steam cleaning my carpets tomorrow morning so the idea is to be out of the house so they can dry - if I can make it for 10:45a I will be there, otherwise we shall ride soon enough I'm sure.

Found a little perspective today

My normal commute to work usually takes me 7-10 minutes down country roads each day. Went in a bit grumpy today because of the nice weather and the fact that it's Sunday.

Then it hit me

On the way home, at the last turn, I went right instead of left. Ended up toolin round 108 kms of some really nice gravel back roads for the better part of 3 hours. It made me realize just how fortunate I am to not have to board those rolling TTC sardine cans everyday and slog away at some mind numbing, soul crushing, just another number, job. Until my new bike comes in, I'm making do with a piece of crap Vulcan that cost me a grand total of $272 including 4 cans of Krylon. The bars are made of reclaimed galvanized fence post, the frame was (kinda) straightened in the garage with the help of my log splitter, front tire is balder than me and just as cracked, leaky fork seals, rusty tank, broken upper crown, (don't worry, there's a chunk of checker plate drilled to it for strength), cracked pipes, bent tubes, grabby clutch, clattering valves, weak battery, etc......

But for 3 years and 30,000+ km all I ever have to do is top up the oil now and then and turn the key. I swear, the more I ignore her, the better she runs. Add the pretty sunset over the Caledon Hills we shared today and I can't help but ponder.

I must be the luckiest man alive.

Oh ya. That's me and her stickin' it to the man and any one else who insists on impeding the rate of our forward progress.
