Pavey Stuff can be plenty of fun too, my 1200 GS has been a blast on the highways and I won't have to get it dirty! Looks like you have started something Motozen. Could be fun in the spring.

unfortunately, I am between bikes

Someone took me out while riding on Richmond St downtown last summer
wrote off the bike, and the knee is still healing.
have fun anyway...
I am in school now, and new bikes probably aren't in the script for a couple of years

I am really sorry to see that, it blows. I had an accident in the spring of 2001 but I am back again.......
Did I meet you at the bike show in TO a few years back?

Yeah, probably.
I expect I will pick up another bike one of these days, but it just didn't make sense to spend the cash when tuition is $16k

Hi there,

I just got a 2003 Dakar a few weeks ago. I rode it home in -8C from a dealership. I must be crazy. Last time I rode in subzero temperatures was some 15 years ago. I honestly cannot wait for snow to melt.
I would be interested in a joining others for a trip up north. James Bay sounds intriguing. Northern Ontario/Quebec/Labrador would also be fine. Would anyone be interested in a sort of get together in the early spring for a ride and maybe to exchange some technical tips?

Winter sucks especially this week, but if it hits 0c on the weekend I'm going riding. Maybe not for long but the bike is still new and I'm itching. Back in December I had it out for a quick blast on the QEW at -14c. Not for long of course but I was out and about for an hour. Sad really.

Hey Peter

I'd be interested in getting together with as many as we can from the area if even just for an afternoon blitz. As for heading up north bring it on. I rode til early Jan. so I'm game for getting together for a cold ride, let me know if you or anyone else for that matter plan on one.

Peter and all Toronto area GS riders:

Right now, a riding buddy and I are exploring different options. One possibility is to do the Trans-Lab in early July. Or, head to the backwoods of Virginia. I will be attending the BMWMOA rally in Lima, Ohio on July 21, then another buddy of mine and I are planning a ride to Ouray, Colorado. A group of 4 or 5 would be cool. Getting together in early spring would be awesome. Check your email.

I might be up for Virginia or Lima this summer. I was out to the Black Hills in SD last summer and am bitten by the bug. I had been thinking of hitting the Dragon's Tail in South Carolina but it's too early to tell. Keep me posted on your plans if you don't mind.

Just saw your post... would love to to do some northern 'expeditions' this spring/summer. I'll also be heading out to Lima. Keep me posted on any plans.

Is anyone interested in a short ride on Sunday? They're calling for 7C and sunny. Since I bought my bike just before Christmas I haven't had a chance to ride it yet because of the weather. I'am located in High Park area an I hope to go out around 2pm for a short ride (say 2 hours). If anyone is interested please let me know.
