Microcars, a little off subject
Check out some of these. Most have scooter size engines. Messerschmitt's mostly have a two stroke 200cc that can be started in reverse to allow backing.

There were a bunch of the modern equilvalents on display in Milan. Small cars with 2/3/4 cyl moto engines, including an 800 cc diesel. Some of them rather cool, dune buggy styled.
