Just returned from a trip...well, not really a bike vacation so much as riding my bike to the family vacation; too much fishing and drinking to put on any really good miles (the boat is NOT mine, BTW, but I thought the boat and its name name made a nice back drop for the pic)

Stats were: 2200 total miles, averaged ~42 mpg. Farthest tank was 188 miles (took 4.5 at the pump to refill it). No oil burned, Michelin PR2 rear looks barely used...only issue was I had to replace the left turn signal bulb

My wife is the best for hauling 800+ miles one way with the kids while I got to ride

Here's a pic of my gal sunbathing

Grab the grab rail, put your foot on the centerstand foot pad, left hand on the left grip and stand up with all your weight.

please PM me if you are thinking of buying one or know someone that may be in the market for a used one. mine is an '09, has 1,100 miles, a Penske rear shock, heated grips, Power Commander V, Auto Tune, GT-X exhaust, and Trax luggage. gauging interest at the moment.

thanks,

There's a pretty extensive thread on this site about them. From all I've read it sounds to be a pretty good all arounder.

The best stock seat I have ever sat on... 830 miles stopping only for fuel and no monkey butt or other pain.
Hasn't failed yet in 35000Km. Don't expect it will either.
So far so good.

12000 miles in 8 months and rock solid reliable so far. It's been an absolute joy.

My dealer has the new one in stock, so I dropped by to have a look and pick up a brochure. It's subtly better looking and better integrated than the old one, and the increased tank range is a big bonus. The styling on the headlights makes it look purposeful, rather than the old one looking gormless! It'll be a few months before he'll have a demonstrator, but I won't be buying till next Spring anyway. It's a shame the way they've mounted the aux lights on the outside of the crash bars - presumably to stop the crash bars being scratched when you drop it....

you are right, i absolutely love my Stelvio and think it's a marvelous motorcycle. guilt is starting to set in post the GS purchase, three uprights i don't need. this is a sale i'm going to regret. have two buyers extremely interested in it. it's currently listed in the classifieds.

take care,

He bought this bike with his own money as a "fixer upper" that he can ride and learn to wrench on. Part of owning is he will buy parts and wrench on it himself. We are going through it together and having fun! I am very proud of the young man he is becoming.
