I agonized over whether to get a DL650 or DL1000. I finally settled on the 1000 and picked up an 05 last March. I've been very satisfied with the 1000, but I am aware that I could very well be typing the same thing If I had purchased the 650.

Had a nice blue '00 SV650, used to just sit and admire that nice metallic blue paint, aluminum, and chrome. Put ~8k miles on it in 2 years. Picked up a '05 DL650 in October '05 and already have over 8k miles on it. The DL won't win a beauty contest, IMO, but I sure do ride it more than the SV. Sort of reminds me of a girlfriend I had in high school.

I think Suzuki should just give us a DL800 and call it good. They could make a street version and a more off-road slanted version with increased suspension travel and better protection.
Sorry boys and girls, the wee strom is nice, but the big dog rules.

Sadly she is in a boneyard somewhere.

I loved the yellow 1000, if that had been an available color when I got my Wee I would've jumped at it.

I'm 6'8"/350# and really like my Wee. 100 + mph loaded (anytime I ride, the bike thinks I'm 2 up!) on the highway, no sweat. It has plenty of power. I think you downshift more, but that's OK. The other issue is leg room and there are short legged riders out there who want the seat off the Wee for their Vee.

The Wee RAWKS!

And isn't the seat really the only thing that makes a difference in height or legroom between the two?

Yes, I'm on my third, which I purchased from a guy in Texas. It is about an inch taller than the stock 1000 seat.

I'm happy to say I picked up a DL650 today after keeping my eye out for many months; nice blue '04, 7500 miles, feels great. pics to follow.

Glad it worked out for you. My 41" inseam and big feet just did not fit on the DL650.

Wow

The race is a lot closer then expected. I thought that the Wee out numbered the V for sure. Guess there are more closet power junkies then anyone expected out there

Put on the Pat Walshs lastnight and I am very impressed!!! Guess the Wee will see the same farkles underneath.

Gonna post some pics of the new look of both bikes in the near future, but today we are going to ride

SFS
