New handlebars

Well my bent stock bars finally got to go. I wanted to get a set of up and back risers for the stock bars, but maybe I can save some cash by killing two birds with one stone with just an OEM handlebar instead. Anyone go this route and if so what brand? I'd prefer to not have to order longer cables if at all possible. Thanks!

I put on pro taper atv hi and have been really happy with them. They are wider if you don't cut them down and that plus the added height has made long rides much more comfortable for me. Cables fit just fine.

Holeshot Performance offers a bend for the VStrom that I would have gone with due to price that does what I have w/ stock bars & 2" Rox Rizers. Not much higher than stock but about 2' further back towards you.
Stock cables, etc. work fine.
The Pro Taper Hi-ATV bars , while are a large improvement for My wrists as far as the "pullback" measurment goes, did not have quite the set back that I was looking for.
Another one of those "Boxers or Brief's?" type of things....

+1 for the Protaper ATV high, probably the best improvement for the least money on my bike. More comfortable hand placement, less numbness on longer rides.

Here is my new to me 07 Wee that I bought earlier this Summer, nearly completely farkled out. My previous scoot was an R12GS but so far I'm still in honeymoon mode with the DL; riding a slow bike fast, great mpg's, etc.... it's a keeper. Well, until it fails to amuse me which they all do eventually.

Anyone have their brakes shudder a little as you near a stop? Work fine up to that point. I just bought the Wee this week and my Bandit did not do this. Maybe it hasn't been ridden in a while. Also, it rained the time previous to this ride. Thanks for your thoughts.

Thanks for the reply. I don't see mine spending much time above 90!
I can't believe how much more comfortable than the bandit the Wee is. This is truly a fun bike that you can ride all day. I assume all of you know this though.
Any secrets to getting to the air filter without removing the tank? I would like to have a look at mine to see the condition.

If you do not pull the tank at least the first time, you'll never know how to "Feel Around" and get it the next time .... + the screws are usually pretty tight from the factory.
I run a K&N and pull the tank anyway just to be sure about throttle body boots, sycronising the throttle, and generally inspect things.
It only takes me an hour start to finish every 10~15,000 miles anyway....

I've had Pro Taper Raptor bars on mine for several years now. Really made a big difference from stock. I prefer to ride up on the pegs and am 6'1. These allow that with real comfort.
Good luck on finding the one that fits best.

First, pardon me everyone for the mega-sized pics, I put them up with a tablet which isn't very intuitive when it comes to details.

I couldn't find a sticker like that so I made it myself with a printer, adhesives and UV spray.

I thought about making a small run of them but chickened out. I'll should upload it to cafepress, sit back and rake in the 8% of the sells they pay.
