I got my ECM replaced yesterday. Smooth at the regular hiccup rpm range. I didn't have time for them to put the plugs in so I'll do that later on. So far do good

I didn't even know there was one. I just stopped in to have my fuel gauge fixed and mentioned the surging...

Tomorrow I'll stop by the zuki place next to my hotel and ask about the bulletin #

I just got off the phone with the service guy, and yeah he gave me the symptoms and such and fixes already discussed. He did not give me a #.

Thumb V Strom 650 headlight protector (protector de faros)

Good again, as do many golf outings and headlights are very expensive, I decided to make one and the result is as follows:

VStrom luggage question

Considering a new DL1000, and need to decide between the basic DL and the "Adventure" model, with the bags. Having owned a 2006 VStrom a few years ago, I was less than impressed with the baggage-especially the top box which basically fell apart shortly after I bought the bike with 20k on it. The side bags were ok, but not great.

The difference between the two is about $600.

What to do? Basic model and pony up for better luggage? Or go for the "Adventure" model?

Thanks!

I also recently purchased a leftover 2012 DL1000. It hiccuped or whatever at about 2700rpm. Told my dealer and he called back in an hour and said parts are ordered. I hope it goes that easy for everyone.

I was in the same boat a month ago and I went with the adv model. One I didn't like the red color of the standard version. Two I didn't have the cash for the luggage that I wanted and three I figured it'd do till I got the cash for the luggage I wanted.

Thats exactly how I felt. Bought mine last weekend. Although its just too bad that there is not another hard case out there that fits the oem luggage racks. OR is there

My headlights stopped working again. Good fuses. Good bulbs. Nothing visibly wrong with switches. Any ideas?

I just purchased a 2012 V strom 650. I love it and I can see this as a keeper. Had several different bikes in the past, but this just feel right from the git go!! The wife really likes it too!

Great! I just keep piling the miles on my Strom and making beers. We're down south now. It's about a ten minute ride to the parkway from the house. Since I go through chains and sprockets faster than most people can eat a box of cereal I'll take chain parts donations any old time.

How are you?

I have a 012 DL1000 adventure model....It's quickly becoming one of my favorite bikes in 40+ years of riding.

I rode it for a few months, including a trip, and decided to gear it down with a 16 tooth front, and a 43 rear sprockets, made a BIG change . I also added a fork brace, centerstand, heated grips, and a aux. fuse block, Wolfman Explorer lite tank bag...

I talked to the dealer about the ecu update, and they ordered it, and the spark plugs, although since gearing it down I haven't really had the issue's other people have had.

Great bike !!!
