Ive sold my 06 V-Strom and am in the process of trading an old BMW for a 05 WEE, The 1000 was nice but I go too Damn fast on it and Im hoping the WEE will be better on the tight bumpy backroads I like to zing around on and be a little better in the dirt as well. Trade should happen tommorow so I'll post a pic when it happens. Never even rode a WEE yet but Ive heard their good. Its funny theres never any stories about blown drive trains or dead electrics on this thread like the BMW threads,I wonder why that is?

We are too mellow. If you look up "Mellow" in the dictionary, there is a picture of a guy on a DL650....

Hello all

Picked up a new Big Vee just the other week. Awaiting delivery of the MRA screen. Trying to decide on pipes. I really like the look of the TwoBros M5s. Crashbars are next though.

cheers

Picked up my new 08 650 ABS this Saturday! I absolutely love this machine. Here she is, straight stock. OEM rear trunk, centerstand, and handguard set on the way. More to come once I unload my Boulevard M50 accessories.

New Respect

Just got back from Westfest. Took the Wee on the Alpine Loop and had no problems. I use the Hyde Racing ABS rock guard and it was plenty. It took rocks and ruts like a champ. I was able to keep up with a KTM 950 with no problem. My other riding partner was on a 1200 GS and I we did a road ride through some twisties and I kept taking off and leaving him. He could catch me quickly enough but it was not a gimme. We got back and I asked how fast his speedo read (since the Wee is so far off) and he said at one point it was 110. I love this bike.

As a ex racer and competitive trail rider, mellow has never been applied to my plan of attack, slow the F down has been mentioned and ignored. Heres my new WEE! It does work well and handles quite a bit better then my old 1000 V on tight roads. The seat does indeed suck for my heidth.Who wants to trade a 1000 seat for a 650 seat?

Ive got the Hyde racing skid plate/pipe gaurd on my TwoStroke 250 KTM and it works great! Slides over logs way better then a aluminum skidplate and weighs less. Didnt know they made one for a WEE.

The Two bros pipes are gawdawful loud unless they have made some changes, very irritating on a long ride. Nice bike though!

Thanks mate. I really like the look of the TwoBros the most. Have not heard them in person. The Leo's look a nice price though. Too much to choose from.

I have had my K8 Wee for about a month. Yesterday I installed a Cee Bailey's windscreen and toured eastern Iowa for most of the afternoon. I test rode a F650GS and a 1050 Tiger before choosing the V-Strom.

I bought an 06 DL650 in Austin Texas. I live in Va so I flew to Austin and payed for the bike and rode it back to Va.
First impressions is its an awsome bike for Interstate travel. Plenty of power and is very quick and nimble. I have a KLr 650 and the Vstrom is light yrs above it for long distance on the slab.
The bike I bought was in show room condition with only 2000 miles on it.:)
The only complaint I have is the seat lacks for long distance riding all day. I will get a Russel seat to cure that problem.
I rate it a 9 with factory seat for riding long distance. For those who dont ride long distance I think the stock seat would be ok for short sunday or weekend end rides. :)
