An XLR, but a XR650R with california plates. My buddy needs the cash so i helped him out, 01' 650R with new black excel rims, fmf exhaust, new plastic, renthal bars, honda uncorked kit, 2 gas tanks & applied clamps. Not bad for $2750

Tank Stickies

Where did you get the stickers on the tank and do they stay on? Looks like they might have come from IMS. I have an IMS but I got it used so no stickers.

I have the Clarke 4.0 gallon tank It is narrower than the "pumpkin" 4.7 gal tank. The only problem is that the petcock is very close to the cylinder. Over time, it would touch, then rub through the side of the petcock, causing it to leak. I JB Welded the petcock, and dremeled the cylinder fins that were close to the petcock. Problem solved.

Not sure why everyone is so down on the IMS tank. Maybe I just got lucky but mine doesn't rub anywhere and apart from the ignition box on the right it's not even close to rubbing anything. I had absolutely no fitment troubles. The bars won't quite go to full left lock but that's because of the Acerbis bark buster mounts. They're very, very close to full lock though. There's no modification necessary if you get a Corbin. One thing that sucks is that there's no fuel tap on the right side so if you run out of juice you have to rock the bike over to get the rest. I don't mind that though...I think of it as a second reserve. IMy spark plug is fairly easy to access. Any difficulty getting to it is not the fault of the tank. At first I thought it looked rediculous. But now I'm used to it the original ones looks very small and wrong on such a big bike.

The Corbin seat, however, was definately a pain in the ass (haha) to install. I had to trim down all the little rubber pads on the bottom, wollow out the mounting holes at the back and use a screw driver and two pair of Vise Grips to prise the holes so they'd line up. All in it probably took me 4 or 5 hours to mount it. It took another 1000 miles to break in. Now that it is broke in life is very good...that is until the next time I have to remove and replace it.

My current problem is that I'm running out of real estate on the handlebars. The bark busters take lots of room and I have a throttle lock taking up what's left on the right. Soon I will buy a GPS mount and it will have to go on the left. Any suggestions on which one to get? In fact, any suggestions at all about which GPS'? I'm over in England and will be traveling around Europe this summer.

More pics of Willie's big ripper

This is the '00 XR600R with Baja Designs Dual Sport kit, FMF Power Core 4. I just recently mounted LED tail light and turn signals on it, I'll have to get a pic of those in here soon.

An older pic when she was only 500miles old.

The user Red Cat is selling an Acerbis 5 gal tank in the flee market. I didn't really look at the ad much, but I though someone here might be interested.
