Thanks John!!! this is exactly what I was looking for. I am going to go search for that piece right now in my parts bin and put it back on.

Cheers ,

Keep an eye out for someone who "desmogged" their bike and is giving away the parts for free, and didn't realize that the oil separator isn't a charcoal canister....

That's what I did.

THe issues you'll notice are single. Oil disappearing mysteriously. ask me.... go ahead....

What would you expect the jetting to be on a XRL that has been desmogged, desnorkled, Dave's carb mod, and an FMF slip on?

Well if you have already done the Dave's Mods you should have the correct 55/158 jets.

Question

Few months ago I came across a picture of an xrl with a Clarke 4.7 tank and custom air scoops, similar to the stock ones. Can't seem to find the picture now. Anyone seen this or know of anyone that made their own air scoops for their bike with the Clarke 4.7?

That's what I did.

It doesn't help when the instructions that come with the kit as well as online tutorials all tell ya to take it off...

The first effort, which was also my first tire spooning effort as well, I used windex like I had seen a tire pro use on a youtube video explaining how to spoon on tires. The next two times, I used actual Rim Ease, rim lube that we've got at work for car tires.

Just thought you guys might be interested. Monday night at about 8pm I'm going to leave to take Thumper up to Portland OR. Yes I'm going to do all 1,007 miles in about 18-19 hours. I'm thinking I'll than take the paperwork and send it off to the IBA. I wonder how many people have entered in using an XR650L? Y'all might still think I'm crazy.
