Good point Walter, but mine does this sometimes after I have ridden to somewhere and the gas is in the bowl is fresh when I go to start it. This leads me to believe in a "over choke" condition. When ever this happens I do bang on the battery box sometimes just in case it's the CDI, but I don't think this is the case as it has only got a couple thousand miles on it.

Zip Tie
Quote:
How did you Zip Tie your CDI into place? Please share a photo if you have one. I have finished my tie-down job, and will post a picture soon. I also zipped the unit inside the air box, and used Velcro as well (following Mr. Spud's advice). I don't like my zipping method, however, and am looking for a better idea. PD

also check to make sure your spark plug hasn't loosened up, It appears that the BRP likes to sometimes slowly spit them out.

gas gas
Quote:
I try to put a splash of STABIL in the tank every once in a while..... When my bike sits for a few weeks it is hard to start...I either drain the carb or put the bike on it's side until gas comes out the overflow...always fires right up. Q: why does XR650L and others in ZA run YELLOW headlight covers? E3

I just put on an FMF power bomb and I like it a lot. Gotta figure out that sweet heat shield/hose clamp thing though... unless someone would be so kind as to re-post it -Barron

Are you sure you're jetted for the elevation? My '94 used to act the same way when I lived in Redmond but now that I'm in low country GA it's better. Also, if you're going to let it sit for a while, like over night, shut the gas off before turning the engine off. A new plug might be in order too. Post pics from you trip OK? Stuart |
