Red, can you tell me what parts are needed to add a tool tube like yours? It is sweet. Slim profile etc. Nice look.

Pretty sure its just a piece of pvc pipe and a pipe plug all available or local home improvement store or plumbing supply

plug read
My plug after 26k miles. What does it tell you gurus?

Tell me, Who does your nails!!!!

Seriously:
Looks good. Color is right, light tan. The black soot on the ground strap is just above the weld and thats where it should stop. Thats the look you should be wanting. What is your carb. set up ( jets you are running) and other engine mods ( exhaust type and air cleaner type)? The build up is normal and to be expected after that any miles.

For comparison here's a rich plug ( not a Honda ) at far less miles.

Thanks

As Kenny said... it is a piece of PVC with a cap on one end and an inspection plug on the other. Held in place with three big hose clamps. You can make them whatever diameter materials Lowe's has in stock

Not really. My camera is sorry shooting plugs. Here's what I have.

These are bad looking, but the bike runs well. Some valve guide oil leakage in right cylinder. Typical Itialian bike.

you know what Im starting to think the machine shop that I used reamed my new oem guides too much!

kibblewhite valves, new seals all good bothe seals the one under the guide, and the stem seals, even jetting lean...

I still have dark dry soot indicating to me an oil "seepage" somehwere in the valvetrain...

I just cant confrm without taking the damn thing completely apart yet another time

its been 3 rebuilds now with a 4th coming soon for the valvehead for a new cam and such

I dont burn any blue smoke ever but I always seem to blip some dark smoke when idling a bit...

the end if the can is now clean, cleaner, as it used to be pretty damn sooted up!

anyways

what do you think?

all your plugs look tanner or whiter than my good running plug

lastly is it just crap gas down here?

should I start using octane boost or cleaner regularly?

I did run with about 6 ounces of octane boost a while back and the bike did run better...crisper...but dont want to risk damaging anything...

any input welcomed!

thanks so much

Maybe the valve stem seal was damaged during install.
The color of the plug is a good guide but not the last word.
In drag racing the plug appearance is considered secondary to the ET.

Good advice though, I have around 28k miles on mine with one top end rebuild, and I'm sure that the engine isn't perfect but man is this bike reliable.

VOICE of REASON!! Just did 4 days Grand Canyon & back from Prescott on my 1995. Always reliable. Haven't had the plug out in a couple years In the RR section under this heading.

Grand Canyon May 12 Off Road

PS could have been a little more comfy with a seat like Steves

Your instructions for the smog removal kit are shit! It looks like a 10th generation photocopy, and more importantly the instructions are wrong with stuff mislabeled! Had to find a youtube video of someone doing the mod. No bueno for noobs who need instructions. I would say either take 30 minutes to type up a new sheet or just point people to your site or a youtube video with instructions.

Other than that I have no complaints about any of the several things I bought from you guys. I have many of your parts on my bike.
