What kind of XRL owner are you making your bike stand on a bare wood floor? Where is the hand woven wool carpet beneath it? The horrors, oh, the horrors...

Installed an FMF Q4 on my XRL the other day. I like it! Definitley a deeper thump when on the throttle, but not too bad when cruising. Looks good too.

So, i gone thru the valve adjustment process multiple times here. I am following all the directions and videos I can find. Top dead center, then adjsut the valves intake and exhaust valves. Try it again and it continues to make the rattling valve train noise. the noise is mostly coming from the right side.

Thoughts? PLease.

Looks good. Color is right, light tan. The black soot on the ground strap is just above the weld and thats where it should stop. Thats the look you should be wanting. What is your carb. set up ( jets you are running) and other engine mods ( exhaust type and air cleaner type)? The build up is normal and to be expected after that any miles.
Thanks Fritz!

(side note: i've only had the spark arrest out for the past few thou miles)
It has 27k total miles so I think I'll stick to what I'm doing until it gives up

btw, I did put a new plug in

It took a few minutes to start the other day so I figured I'd at least check the plug. Only sat for about 10 days. It always starts in 1-2 cranks so it was weird. At one point, it burped a little white puff of smoke when cranking and giving gas

It's definitely more white than tan. I'll take a look at it again. Thanks B!
