I'm swaping my XR250R's oil cooler to the XR400 cooler I got in trade.

Here are some installs I like.

Here they used XR250R lines and fittings.

This one looks pretty good.

I like this one with the reversed fitting too.

I have broken 3 speedo clusters in 23,000 miles on the L. I am going to try to jb weld this one back together. But I know it a matter of time before I have to go with the trail tech. Do you guys know who has the best price on the trail tech and mount? Can you please post up a link or pm me? Thanks Ben

Tank bag is http://www.wolfmanluggage.com/Tank/enduro_tank.html. But the saddlebags and supports are also Wolfman. Can't go wrong.

now, anybody in the austin area wanna come weld mounts and help put it on?
All this oil cooler chatter... I have to share my oil cooler FeaBay fun.

I was going to experiment with an XR400 cooler earlier this summer. Found one on the FleaBay for less than $100...
Here's the box when it showed up

Are you fu$%ing kidding me?! Pull it off the bike, wrap it in a mailer envelope and throw it in a box?! Dont even let the funky, burned up, nasty, stinking oil drain out of it?! The Mailman is now my BFF. Not to mention my wife. She was thrilled when she received the box

What is this? an oil cooler or used tampon?

WTF... Cleaned it up... scraped off the orange goo and it leaked like a sieve!

At least Goober was good enough to refund my cash so it worked out OK. eBay... buyer beware

So how well did the FMF heat shield fit with the powerbomb header Rob? And where did you get it from? I'm thinking of possibly going with the powerbomb.....just trying to justify the cost

Thanks Spud for the link.....I saved it The price for that shield is hard to beat, and it looks great on your pipe Its nice to have a reasonably priced shield option that will (hopefully?) work on any pipe I might buy .....wondering about the FMF powerbomb tho?

You're welcome. The DRC heat shield will fit any exhaust header which fits your XR650L.
