It's a European special of the XL, as far as I know. It didn't sell too well.

That must be one helluva job being a cop on a sport bike...
That is a staged picture to market the police race team

The only Capital Police bikes I've seen around (motorcade escorts and such) have been HD with sidehacks. Loud as shit, too. In the wintertime you'll see 'em wearing these blanket things that attach to the fairing in the front and come back over their legs and look like they wrap around their waist like a kayak spray skirt. I'm thinking something like that would be real nice for my early-morning blasts up 95.

DC police ride Rebel two-fiddys. Every time I see one I think they'd be much better off on a DR-Z400S, a DR-650 or a KLR650. The little Rebel ain't so bad, though. That's what I rode when I took my MSF course.

Los Anchorage Biker Cops

Moosekiller wrote: "I do find it kinda funny that we have biker cops in AK. They used to have hogs but got a clue and went BMW..."

Thirty-some years ago Anchorage had a couple of white Gold Wing cop bikes. There was one motor cop you would often see cruising up and down Northern Lights Blvd. (when it was two-way) with his pipe in his mouth. Too bad I never took photos of him.

Whoa! Donuts, anyone?

Not so sure about outrunning them on the bikes, but if it got to be a foot chase, a leisurely stroll ought to do them in quickly

Here's what the Florida Highway Patrol keeps in reserve (and it's in FHP colors, too!)
