SW-Motech only makes a model specific top box mount for the '05-' years, they are using the mounting bosses in the new grab bars. The universal adapter plate is designed to clamp to tube frame racks. The top box is backordered so I don't expect it to show up for at least a month. I will repost when I get it installed.

ShinySide, have you fitted the Trax Universal Adapter Plate to the Turbo City Rack yet? Is it the Borrego Rack?

I've got the Trax side cases and have wanted to mount the Trax top box as well but I can't figure out how to do it without jerry rigging too much stuff.

Trax SW-Motech mounts and Turbo City Borrego Rack on a F650GS

Yes, it is the Borrego Rack, and no, I have not fitted it yet, the Top Case is backordered. I do not expect to have the shipment until late April.

I don't forsee any problems. As for mounting the rack, I needed to add 3/4 inch spacers between the Trax rack and the Borrego rack at the side fairing mounts. Naturally I also needed longer bolts. 1/4 inch spacers are all that is needed to have the rack clear the twist locks on the SW-Motech rack. The 3/4 inch spacers help to level the rack with the seat of the bike.
