I had 37,000 when I picked mine up. Just about to 50,000 now and it hasn't skipped a beat. Love this thing.

Are those Pelicans cases on a Happy-Trail rack on yours?

So many chip seal tar stains on my rear wheel from this trip; from the quantity of tarry pebbles I had to detach from everything, I am surprised my belt survived it.

All years of the Uly have the same basic weak spots: wheel bearings, front brake pulsing, ECU placement, poor electrical grounds, engine heat on right leg.... Is there an appreciable difference for 2008 and later? I thought the later bikes got some of that sorted, especially the bearings issues. I ask because I am strongly considering it as my next bike. Thoughts?

The biggest changes in the '08 and newer bikes are a larger big end bearing in the crank, revised cam bearings and bosses and higher output oil pump. These mods were originally developed for the XBRR race program to improve engine durability in race apps and were adopted for production motors in '08.

Also, on the '08 and newer bikes, changes were made to rake angle and triple clamps to allow a tighter turning radius while still maintaining a 4.8" trail dimension. 4.8" of trail is pretty generous and makes for very sure footed handling. If not as quick steering as the XB Lightnings and Firebolts, the XB12X Ulysses is still an extremely sharp handling motorcycle. One of it's more endearing traits, imho.

Now I can run the TKC up front and retain the standard Ulysses mud guard thanks to the 120/70 lower profile. These tires have a "B" code which must stand for Buell. Good on you Continental - Top Job.

I like the black/ yellow My first had a yellow air box but the rest was black. I guess being a Pittsburgh native it runs in my blood.
