BTW- if anyone needs a replacement belt or a spare, I just got one for <$170 shipped from here:

http://shop.newcastlehd.com/

List price is $185 w/o shipping, so that's a pretty sweet discount. The part number for the latest belt is G0500.1AKF

Ordered Thursday night on-line; belt was in stock and shipped out yesterday.

New rubber and bearings

Shinko Raven......the rear Conti gave up the ghost. They did not last long. So far the new rear rides very well and i am very pleased with both the tire and the cost. The new bearings I put in just because the bike now has 14k on it. The belt I put on at 9500m but I going to wallo out the idler wheel bolt hole to reduce some tension. Next day i took it on a 350ish mile trip. I ride mine about 60 miles daily commuting rain or shine to work and back.

I am wanting the new KTM 1190A something bad for me but I am thinking i am going to trade my 2002 Harley Ultra in it and also KTM 990 Supermoto for the wife. She is ready to upgrade from her Sporty. I love this Uly and unless it becomes a serious PITA for me will keep it in the stable as its just super fun to ride. I blast down asphalt and gravel on it almost daily.

Kag, let me know how that Shinko does. Heard it doesn't last long either. Putting on the rear Conti now. Weird the front Roadsmart wore out faster than the rear. Good idea on hollowing out one of the mounting holes on the idler at this time. Thanks for reminding me and thanks to Lornce for coming up with it.

Decided to try to get rid of the brake squeak from the EBC pads as well.

Lubed all the contacts with copper grease, well except the friction surfaces.

You can see the USNS Montford Point right above my mirror (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USNS_Mo...oint_(T-MLP-1))

I guess this is the oldest standing building in my town, built in the 1860s I think.

Might be time to pick up a new belt if they have them in stock. I'm heading up that way this weekend so I won't have to pay shipping.

Yes it is an offical buell triple tail gel pad. If you do a saved search on ebay for buell gel pad one usually pops up every couple of months sell used from $20-$50.

I think corbin or sargent sell their oen version.

Probably dumb question... I have big hands, I have a hard time getting gloves that are wide enough, and don't put my hands to sleep on the grips. Bigger grips generally work, I had the big old fashioned grips on my Nightster(can't remember what they were called, vintage maybe?), and it helped. The Ulysses has heated grips, so what are my options? Is there some kind of a grip wrap or something?

Look online for grip puppies. They are neoprene tubes that slide over your existing grips. I have a hand injury that doesn't allow me to make a fist on my right hand and these work great for me. The stock grip heaters still work great.

Wolfman tyoe soft luggage?

I was wanting to take the plastic side bags off mu Uly and go with a Wolfman type soft luggage but unsure which bags and tank bag works best. I figured someone here has already done this so I wanted to ask.

Our 9y/o will be 2 up with me now that we have him rigged out in good riding gear. So this is a factor also that i would be 2 up with him. Wife has her own bike.

As we plan to start road tripping more I just want to try to get it set up better.

Grateful for any help or suggestion in this area.

Had our first son May 31st and I haven't had much time to ride this summer. But today he was with his grandparents and I had the afternoon off, so I set out for some wandering to see how much of the crops have turned.

That bike looks really similar to mine :) I just don't have a tinted windscreen. Mine even has the side cases off right now.
