does 2610 work w/ City Select?
2610 gurus, I have a few questions for you. I currently have a Garmin 60CS and I'm running City Select v6. I am contemplating buying a used 2610 from someone who lost the original CDs.
Was there any 2610 specific CD that will prevent me from using the 2610 fully? Will I be able to download the City Select Maps to the 2610? Will I need to purchase a new unlock code? Thanks twong1100 screwed with this post 02-22-2006 at 09:55 PM |

The software and data are not specific to any certain unit, although there may be compatability issues with older mapping data products.
You should be able to unlock your City Select for one additional unit for free. City Select will work fine with the 2610.

Call Garmin Support
Garmin will send copies of the software free of charge. You just need to make sure that the guy you are buying it from gives you the customer code so you can get to Garmins website to register it. (Garmin will also send you the information from the unit serial number)
They just sent me the full versions of the latest City Select Europe and NA for my IQue as I have changed PC's and lost the original CD's. I do have to pay the latest upgrade fee but I was going to do that anyway. |
