After riding a couple of miles in 6-8 inches of water in Buckeye Creek, NV, I was surprised to end up in this hole. It took another 3-wheeler and a lot of tugging to get out.

This was not a quick dip. The bike got sucked under and vanished, then was dragged 100 yards down river where it sat for a week 'till the water level went down enough to find it.

The bike, a 2005 KLR 650, is being resurrected and will live again.
It was running just a few days later and now has all new bearings and has had a thorough cleaning.

I'll be helping to put it back together tomorrow.



Edit: I suppose I ought to add a photo so I'm not dragging this thread too far off topic.

Not much of a water crossing, but there was a layer of green slime on the bottom that was slick as snot!
