What is your concern with the crankshaft bearings?
Sorry ... never heard for Trelleborgs tires before.

Engine was making strange noise at low rpm's, I visited KTM service, mehanic told me, 27.000 km is pretty much for LC4, noise is from piston rod and he suggested general repair.
I will know more when he will open the engine completely.

Mitas is now licenced to make Trelleborg tires, so anywhere you get Mitas, you should be able to get Trelleborg. They are famous for winter studded motorcycle tires, but their 3 season tires are impressive looking.

17,000 miles is a good bit of riding! I think you would best get a response from one of the local LC4 gurus if you posted in the LC4 Adventure thread.

I put Mitas E09 130/80-18 on the rear last Friday ad made 20 km, just to see if it is working.
(For the price of one Michelin T63 130/80-18 or Michelin Baja 140/80-18, you can get two Mitas tires here.)
At Saturday I made 600 km (to be honest, it was only 592,8 km ).
(We had group ride in the forest for maybe two hours, I was riding on the tar road to the forest and back ... here is boring movie from that ride: http://rapidshare.de/files/35146197/Slavonija2006.wmv.html (185MB, but if someone is really curios ... )).
I have feeling, my tire will be the same case as the same tire on the same bike which my buddy have ... he put it in the garbage after 3000 km, because of some "broken" knobs. For now, I found small cracks on the bottom of a few knobs.

Tiki

P.S.
To finish story from above: I also have new crankshaft and few new ball bearings after "reparation".

Eek Thanks

Thanks to everyone who posted pics here--thanks for nothing! These are the coolest bikes I've ever seen, and now I gotta get one. seriously though, I've been thinking about giving up the cruiser for a dual sport, and it looks like I've found just the thing
