The Round Barn (1898) in Arcadia, Oklahoma (on old Route 66).

This is the only round barn in the US.

Yep,
those other three sure look round. I took that "the only round barn" statement from a site about the one in Arcadia, Oklahoma. To wit:

"As the only truly "round" barn (most are actually hexagonal or octagonal), the Barn is 60' in diameter, 45' in height and is two stories high."

So blame dem Okies, not me! Haha.

Maybe they mean the roof too?

This may not be the only round barn in the US but, as far as I can see it's the only RED round barn.

That one by me is faded red also.

But, I can say of the dozen or so round barns I have seen, none had a round dome roof like the Okie one..........and I cant recall a obvious two inner stories like it either ?

Wish I could see the inside of the Okie one.

All the round ones I have seen are radial layout milking stalls.

Arcadia, Oklahoma Round Barn

I visited the Round Barn in Arcadia last summer.

I think they said they know of over 700 of these built in the US.
Some 300 or so are still in existence, though many are in various states of disrepair.
(I could be totally wrong about the numbers, my memory can be faulty.)

It's just the only one fixed up as a tourist attraction immediately on US 66.
It's a common misconception to believe it's the only one because they aren't all that common and Arcadia is very proud of this one.

Someone wanted to see the inside?
It is a HUGE and impressive space.
This photo is from the upper level.
It felt like a sauna in here.

There were lots of pictures and information on other round barns on display here.
