The first looks like a floating dredge. They probably had a man-made lake there.
The last look like some sort of smelters, to melt whatever they were mining out of the ore.

Ice Caves,Salmon River, Idaho....!
Twice as big as it looks, all built against an ice cave. Shelves still full of canned goods, but from the smell,abandoned a few years ago. A few more in that style down the road,bad time for my batteries to die...! And to the above.....Gold Dredge No 4, Bonanza Creek, Yukon! National Historic Site.....Quick answer.....! And believe it or not there was such a dredge close from where I come from in Quebec, someone stole it....for scrap....! Great thread BTW...will have more to post soon....!
