Problems

Last night I accidentally filled my Ruckus with 1.1 gal of diesel fuel. I did not start the motor.

A friend and I then lifted the bike up and sideways and dumped out as much as we could.

I then filled it with .95 gal of premium gas.
It idled OK but seemed down on power when I rode it approx 3 miles home.

Today I can't get it to run right at all.
The coolant reservoir is showing lower than usual also.

I siphoned out the mixed gas and disel today and filled it with 89 octane gas.
I changed the oil which looked fine.
I put in a new air filter.
I drained the carb. bowl.

No luck.
Any ideas?

Thanks.

Check the Spark Plug. I will bet it is an oily mess.

Ditto on change the plug.

Also, does the Ruckus have a fuel pump or gravity feed? If it's gravity you might have to disconnect the fuel line at the carb and let the gas run to make sure you're getting pure gasoline to the carb. Short of that, drain the carb bowl a few more times.

Probably not a big deal overall EAJ - and I doubt the coolant issue is related.

Does it start at all?

Ruckus gas.

Ruckui have pressurized fuel systems, with the gas tank under the floorboard. A friend of mine is putting a drivetrain from an Elite 150 into has Ruckus frame. He didn't realize that he was going to have to be dealing with fuel regulators and all that. It's definitely not a gravity-feed fuel system.

Does your Ruckus have an EVAP canister? (I don't own a Ruckus yet... just the Big Ruckus) Big Ruckus is equipped with EVAP canister. Turning the machine up-side down to dump fuel could have easily filled EVAP canister with fuel... will not run properly until canister is emptied.

No... a small amount of diesel remaining in fuel system won't hurt anything as long as engine isn't "pinging" while running normally. Yes... I have diesel powered vehicles.

Thanks all.
I put a new plug in and did a better drain on the gas tank.
It's running great again
