With all respect I'm not sure why you would want to put the Highland motor into a chassis that is heavier, with suspension that many would consider to be inferior. Would it not be easier just to purchase and fit existing manufactured ADV mods to the original bike?

Be interested to hear what others think.

I understand an adventure version is planned by US Highland but it is some time coming.

That rear subframe would be a nice platform to hang panniers etc from...Built like a brick outhouse!

If the Highland engine went into a KTM frame it would take some serious design to figure out how to obscure all the easily serviceable items with fairings and trims!

I was thinking about inlet manifolds and high temp RTV silicone earlier this week John.

Next time you're near give me a bell and I'll show you what I was thinking.

Any news from Highland? I'm starting to mentally write them off, but I would like to see them succeed. I really would love something like the Trail 350 (though doubt I could rationalize it).

Welcome to the (US) Highland World It seems to be like that for us all, the frustration of tremendous potential not completely realised. Always hoping that the company will get its act together and produce the finished article. That is why a few of us with the bikes have to do some development ourselves. One ray of hope is that in the US Scott has signed up for a dealership in the north east. Got this from this Highland Forum Not your neck of the woods I know but its a start.

If you would like answers maybe Scott at this email may have some

US Highland Regional Dealer Northeast US

Thanks for the mention "John in Leeds". Yes, we are the Regional Dealer for the northeast United States for US Highland. This probably should be in the Vendor Forum but I wanted to follow up on this thread.

We will be signing dealers up throughout the northeast covering some 11 states.

Feel free to contact me with any questions. I will be happy to answer anything I can. Thanks for your support.

I rode through Bradford Pa. What a beautiful town. Good people and the home of Zippo lighters and Case knife. Good luck with your endeavor. Do You carry other brands or are you just the distributor?
I got a tour of the Options House building getting remodeled. Once again every one I met was helpful and kind.

Hi Soundcc-

Yes, our little town is great with some great dirt and street riding. We are going to have a retail store as well as distributor for the northeast exclusively with US Highland machines. Look me up the next time you are through.

Regards,

Scott

Sounds just the Dogs Bollocks

Seems a bit of an oversize track for a 950 Highland though

1/4 scale R/C

Those little machines are the coolest. Had to do a double take at first w/o any perspective. I wish I recovered as quickly after falling off!!

Thumb Old Style with carb.

Hello all

My name is Oliver and I am from Germany.
Realy nice to read this forum. Very intersting. I bought a 950 ( year 99) with carburator and a broken gear box (6 gear / 4 tooth were missing). Here are some fotos. I am realy intersting to change the fueling system. The gear box is fixed and the machine was running but I had a problem with valve stem seal. It blowed Oil in the gear clinder. Now I am fixing it and I rework the cilinder and make some new pistons.
It realy intersting what all of you are doing. I will post some photos of mine.

Sorry I need to find out to attach some photos here. I try it later.

Oliver
