Vstrom 650 pics w/ bags (only please)

Hi,

I am trying to figure out what top/side luggage to buy and why.
Along with the mounting options and why.
I have a chart printed with all my options for the luggage/mounting that I pulled from another website.

Please post up pictures w/ side and rear views so I can get a better idea of what the bike will look like afterwards should I go with this idea or that idea.
Oh and please don't make me guess at what bags are on the cycle ~ brand, size ... bla bla bla.

I know ... this is a huge asking, but really ... this trying to decide makes me want to and some more.

Thank you in advance for you assistance with this big spending $$$ adventure I am about to embark upon.

Givi E360s

These are Givi E360 sidecases on a Givi rack. I've dropped the bike on them, and they seem pretty durable (I had to replace a mounting clip, $9+ shipping). Price for the cases isn't too bad either.

If I had it to do over, I would go with the Jesses. According to the website, they are narrow enough that the bars remain the widest part of the bike. Maybe someone else can chime in - that much luggage space and still able to split lanes?

Good luck,

--J

What bags are you choosing between? What do you like about the various options?

Givi E36 side cases because they're as fugly looking as the Strom:

Givi V46 top case 'cause it holds so damn much:

All the bags since there's always something else to carry:

I have Jesse bags on my 650, no pictures though.
if you look on the first page of the V Strom picture thread you will see JKam's bike, mine looks the same except for his topbox.

great bags, sturdy mounts, and they look good.
they are kind of spendy but I like'm.

Here you go continuing along the cheap bastard theory. Pelican 1430's on SW Motech rack, which is the quick release rack that comes off the bike in about a minute. Topcase is a SHAD 46 liter case that can hold 2 large full face helmets, or 1 large full face and a First Gear Kilimanjaro jacket with space for gloves and an atlas. It also carries my REI laptop bag with lots of room left. Why Shad over Givi? Cost, Matching color plate, 90% of the build quality of Givi, what more do I need to say.

Any other questions?

Happy Trails

I initally used the Teton panniers shown here. These are the 7.5" wide version and give a total width ~36".

The racks make nice rear crash bars

I sold the Tetons with another bike and replaced them with the Targhee model that's 2" taller .

cheers

Hepco and Becker "Junior" top case and side bags. I only use the top case but it's the best piece of luggage I've ever had. Here's a pic of a bike using all 3 pieces.
