USING SW Motech sideracks with Pelicans
Guys
someone help my understanding, as I'm not near anyplace that has pelicans and motech racks.... Using Pelican 14xx or 15xx sidecases with Motech racks, do you have to EMPTY the case, reach inside and undo the mounting hardware to get the case off the bike? is there a "quick release" setup??? thx ..... i sure like the pelican cases....

oh I think i get it. there's more than one Motech setup for the strom? you're using the "quick release" kind.... will go look for those now..
Tell me, do the Quick Release type increase the girth? that is, more hardware pushing the cases further out from sides? Quote:

GIVI side case mounts with E36 bags. El-Cheapo top case (almost identical to the JCW case.) I'm very pleased with this setup so far.

I use Happy-Trail racks and thier panniers. The racks look like they would be great crash bars without the cases mounted. |

It's fine. Yes, it bounces on it's mount a bit. Put more crap in it and it stops. Not quite 100% waterproof, but there is only ever a few drops of water in the bottom, even after a 300+ mile day in the rain. Undo four screws on the inside and the orange piece comes off, then you can pop out the red "reflector" and put a real piece of reflective tape behind it. Much better. |

40 liter Kappa bags on Givi 532 racks. Thought I would end up with the E36 model but as I'm a long standing member of Team Frugal I succumbed to the cheaper offering? Perhaps a tad wide at 42 inches, only time will tell?

I use the Givi E41, in combination with an top E46, only in long time trips.
The top was in offer included in the normal equipment in Spain. ![]() I appreciate much the top cap in the E41, because I can take to hand things like maps, sun glasses or bottles, without open all case. The bike looks like an transatlantic, but you can transport material for more days
