I like your penny-tech hydration system. Better than wearing it.

My current setup>>> Peli 1550's on old style SW Motech rack.

The olive drab green is awesome!! Is that CARC or paint? Looking to get a Wee Strom this summer and may steal your idea.

Hey DrunkUncle...

Sorry I didn't respond sooner. It's actually from a rattle can :). Krylon Fusion Camo - Olive Drab. Turned out better than I ever imagined. The paint quality from those cans is really good. But of course prep is key.

Here's what I did...

I went with the Jessies, not on a Strom, but panniers are panniers. The HT panniers looks fine, Micatech, even the Caribou. I'd shy away from the Trax, even tho they look awesome I heard they are not very crash worthy.

New Givi Wee Racks rock!!!

The second iteration of the Givi PL532 side racks have quick-locks previously seen only on SW Motech's design. Now with a twist of the triangle tool, the two racks come off to leave only unobtrusive tabs.

Better to see dat pipe with, right 'lil Red?

And just as AZstrommer & Wulf did, the non-pipe side being one inch closer to the bike allowed for the fatter E45 case, and the thinner E36 case went on the pipe side. Together they make the cases look symmetrical on the bike. Also important for aerodynamics, right?

Oooh, gotta love those Italian designers...

Touratech rack

I bought a set of touratech zega boxes on ebay and they came with a touratech side case frame for a dl650. I ride a KTM 690 so its of no use to me. It looks to be brand new, all hardware is there, its not scrached or bent. PM me an offer.

I loaned them my 05 V-Strom to fit the bags to - they sold several sets almost immediately.

How do these compare in weight to ally panniers, which are around 4.5kg for a similar size (40l). Did you mount them to be removable or are they bolted on permanently.

"Bolted on" already implies "removable"
