Western Canoe Co. makes great boats . . . we've had a kevlar Clipper Tripper for over a decade and have paddled everything from Puget Sound & great lakes to lazy rivers. They're even making the Prospector line now that was popularized by Bill Mason

Did I email you? I talked to someone near the cities? I've got a line on one near Chicago and I'm supposed to go look at it Friday.

This last weekend was our local annual Sea Kayak Symposium. I work for REI and we had about 25 demo boats there. I also taught a class on dressing for weather or water.

When VIVID1 came up a few weeks ago we took my kevlar Dagger Meridian SKS (red) and glass VCP Pintail down to Seward. Fun!

Here's Anna in Seward on her first kayaking experience.

Too cool Diezel. Did you ever meet a girl named Martene, a longtime guide in the San Juans? Or did you ever meet George Walker who lives out on Lowell Point in Seward or a hard core kayaker named Bjorn who's folks owned Ressurection Bay Art Gallery?

I just got a digital camera a year ago so I don't have many paddling photos, like when I got close to Killer Whales right out of Seward. Anyway, here's one more for ya looking at the area between Lowell Point and Caines Head.

Cedar Strip Canoe

This photo is close to ten years old. I've built the canoe myself. It is 17' long and is fiberglass over cedar. I haven't used it in years, it's too big to go on the roof of my car. The little girl sitting in front of me is now 22 and she has the only car in the family that could take the canoe :-).

Lake Bacalar, Q. Roo, Mexico, 2005. We always take a couple el-cheapo inflatables w/ us. They're good for snorkling, goofing off, etc. And when you leave they can stay behind, give 'em to a local, or whatever.

Fun, I can't wait to do it again, here is my favorite picture from my first time ever kayaking. Love the scenery.

Damn...all these pics are really cool. I've always wanted to try kayakin' and you guys are making it really hard. My local REI is doing a free demo day next weekend so I think I'm going to check it out.
