Yeah - I'm not quite sure what's going on with the 'shield. He's got a several 'shields and seats. We'll see what we see. Looks like Friday night pickup.

I'm soooo stoked

did you ever get any advice on this?

I've been looking myself and most seem to be for metal tanks (with magnets)

Wicked Elefants in Alaska

Dunno if anyone already posted this, but there are two '94 Elefant 900 (friends w/ both owners) in the Anchorage area, and from what I understand, a couple of the smaller 600's too. If'n it looks like a D/S, then there's probably one in AK.

Does anybody know what the wet weight of a 600 is?

The reason I ask is because even though my beautiful and charming wife is a real go-for-it kind of girl (no snyde comments please) she's just a wee lassie.
She's on a 650 bimmer now (which I hate on principal). I'd be happier if she was riding a Duc.

Finnally!!!!!!! I have found a sight somewhere in the world where people have actually seen and ridden a Ducati e 900!!!!!

Hello.. my Name is Greg Long, I'm from Faithaven, mich.. 30 miles north of Detroit.

I have 10 bikes from a senselessly chromed up Harley V rod to a Mint Honda CBX to a KTM 520 enduro, to a Suzuki Water Buffalo and several other in between... you could say I am addicted to the process of finding and buying and cleaing and polishing bikes... I'm embarrashed to say how seldom they actually get ridden!!!! Maybe 4000 miles a year between them!!!

ANYWAY... WHILE GOING FOR A RIDE IN A NEARBY TOWN 5 WEEKS AGO I CAME ACROSS A DUCATI E 900 (on the side of the road1!!)... very nice, 1995, 12500 KM (7500 miles), recent belts with reciept from Ducati shop, mismatched tires, no windshield, but otherwise in beautiful shape. Has a removable "trunk" on the rear rack" After weeks of haggeling.. (I realize now that could have been a mistake cause these seem seem so rare. ) I ended up with it... trouble is.. NO ONE KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT IT!!!

I have a million small questions about the bike..
what kind of oil (I don;'t need a thread on favorite oil, thanks)
where is the oil filter
where can I get a windshield.. or do I make one!!
Where is the air filter?
How much fork oil and wt?
etc, etc,

My number is 1-586-725-3225 is there anyone out there willing to call me and talk about these bikes for a few minutes sometime over the next couple week.. or e mail me powershotman@comcast.net with your phone and I'll call you on my dime.

THANKS TO ALL... GLAD TO HAVE FOUND THIS SITE

LOL if she can ride the bimmer she'll be devilish on the 600 elefant, you see, the 650 bimmer outweighs the 900 by 40 lbs AT LEAST and there is no way the 600 is heavier than its big brother.

I saw Rocker59's old ride on a trailer in Telluride today.
Had to take a second look. Not many of those around.

1: 20-50 for most of us, but a little thinner cant hurt with your cold climate.

2: bottom of engine under skid plate, also a screen to be cleaned by removing the bolt at the bottom of the engine, right side, below the sightglass

3: twisted throttle as linked by stuntman for new.

4: under the fuel tank, not convenient but oh well.

5: 4.61" is stock, dont know viscosity, i run 10wt. but, we play with those to fine tune right?

enjoy it.
