94 e900

I have a 94 E900 with extremely low miles that has been just collecting dust in my garage for years. It has some scratches, fading and rigged up front fender but otherwise good shape. Corbin seat. New chain, sprockets, tires, clutch fibers and springs, extra tire. Needs further upgrading to be a great ride but it is a perfect platform to start. Tank has been drained and will need battery and maybe a quick carb cleaning to fire up. A serious inquiry will get me motivated to get it running, or if you prefer you can do it yourself. Don't ride much anymore and want other toys. $4000 firm. Fort Worth, TX. Did I mention extremely low miles? Serious inquiries and I can dig it out for pics. I have posted pics of it and offered to sell it before in this thread years ago, a search might find photos.
Thanks, Ron

Seeing as there hasn't been many 'Elefant Sightings' in this thread for a while, I figured I'd add a couple........

[IMG][/IMG]

here's another elefant that's out of work. it lives in oz, and is just on 10,000kms. i bought it in Japan and am the second owner, but alas, as i get older and smaller, it's just a bit too tall for me.

if you live in this part of the world, it's on bikesales.

Gorgeous bike!

Here's one of mine right now... actually more in pieces than when photo was taken.

I just finished adjusting the valves... besides that, she's getting: new oil separator, new throttle cables, new clutch slave, fresh motul oil, fresh brake and clutch fluid, new belts, a digital voltmeter, and a good cleaning. Might rebuild the carbs while I'm in there.

Cheers,

Cade

Too bad you're looking for a 650. I've got a 95 E900 in my stable that I've been having a hard time finding time to ride and have been kicking around the idea of selling to someone who'll appreciate it.

I've got what you're looking for. '85, 5400 miles, just did valves and belts, starter solenoid, chain roller and swingarm guide, petcock, regulator, starting wiring, and I'm about to pick up the carbs fully rebuilt, no expenses spared from Herdan. Man, that was a pretty penny...

But I'm afraid is not for sale.... Haven't put but 100 miles on it since I bought it, but it's been garage furniture for a good 8 or more years. Some times life's priorities change.... Hopefully next year will get couple thousand miles...

And I'm in PA too....

Sorry. Had to . Good luck with your search..

Curtis,
I've already had a 900 but that doesn't mean that I wouldn't buy another. Then I could go back into the chain-slider business.

I'll PM you my e-mail so you can send pics.

Got one of my 'Fants out for a ride this last weekend up at Big Bear.

Didn't do such a good job of snapping pics, I have a few, but none of the beautiful scenery I came across.

The bike handled the fire roads and deep sand with no problems, and was lovely even over some decent whoops. I probably got a maximum of 2 whole inches of air under the tires at spots. Gobs and gobs of power after her recent valve job (plus lots of deferred maintenance).

Mainly was getting up there to take the wife and sons camping - One boy's first time camping ever (8 months old) and the other's first time riding his dirt bike on actual dirt. (Which means I did the wuss thing and trucked the bike up) We had a ball. My gut feel is that this bike is probably a better bike off road than almost any modern enduro. While it can definitely play on road, it really handles much better off road than I'd have guessed. I didn't try any black routes, but green and blue are no sweat for this thing.

I loved some of the comments - a couple older folks up there knew what it was and came up to ask about it later at camp - another group of riders: "You didn't tell us you brought a tank!" but everyone seemed to love it. I know I did.

I did manage to break one part - my fork protectors, which had been cracked multiple times over and just couldn't handle the washboards and big bumps. I used up about 8 inches of suspension travel on the biggest hit somewhere, according to my calibrated eyeball on the fork slider. Nice and smooth - didn't upset the bike at all.

So here's some pics:
