On the oil, do not run full synthetic. The organic gaskets don't like it and will start leaking. I run semi-synthetic and have no issues. I agree with 2-spot with the 20-50 wt. Since it is an air-oil cooled motor, it holds up better.

Which model of centerstand is that?? I need to get one of those. As far as the synthetic oil in your previous post (stuntman), my bike has had synthetic since day one at the Duc dealer and it's not leaking. Should I switch??

I think it is a SW-Mototech form Germany. I bought it from www.adventuremotogear.com.

Hell man, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!!!

I had a 95' 900SS/SP that I tried running full synthetic in and she started oozing like a bloody Harley. My Duc mechanic advised against full-synthetic and told me to run semi-sythetic. This stopped the oozing. I've stuck with semi-synthetic ever since in all my Ducs. If I was you, I wouldn't change a thing if you aren't having any problems.

ive always heard if you were running dino oil and switched you'll prolly leak, that goes for anything not just ducs.
that being said i run syn blends instead of full syn, partly because duc doesnt spec full syn and partly because if i have a problem and need to buy oil somewhere i may not be able to find full syn.

I'm not sure what's spec'd for the Elefant, but I'm running full synth in my S4 Monster and my ST3. No leaks.
