Anyone have the taller screen shown? How do you like it. Does it cause buffeting to your helmet?

One last pic.

I normally don't like putting prices to stuff but have you guys seen my 1996 Duke?

It belonged to a friend of mine. It had been kept in a garage and babied its entire life. I'll save you the long story but there wasn't a thing wrong with it and there was one small boot scuff on the rear fender--that's it. The photo above was taken the day after I brought it home. I hadn't even washed it yet.

If I told you guys what he sold it to me for, you'd all want to kill me. It was a serious fire sale price (no, you wouldn't believe it and I won't post it for fear of devaluing the bikes). I really don't think I'd have a problem selling it for $4K today but the price was closer to half of that (how close is your guess).

Why? Because he wanted it gone, he didn't want to deal with $$$ Cycletrader ads, people low-balling him anyway and wanted to know that it went to a good home. I never even sat on it. I drove over with a trailer and begged him to be absolutely sure he wanted to sell it. He was. It came home.

So how much is a bike worth vs. how much can you get for it in a hurry, under your own conditions? That's up to each individual owner. It can be a big gap but when you consider the beating a new owner takes on first-year depreciation, losing $1K on a used bike after owning it a couple of years isn't much.

End of sermon :

Yeah when I am picking my nose........

It does do pretty damn good though. It was a bike way before its time. If it came out this year it would be the coolest ADV bike on the market.
