Speaking of crashing, Chris rode by your special humps on Old Ore and found some Mauro artifacts.

I'm in CA

In the vicinity of Santa Barbara right now. Leaving Friday, heading back via L.A. and PHX.

Nice bike. One of the best looking BMWs I've seen. Tell me about the fairing. Are the lites built in? It's a little hard to tell from the angle of the photo. I want to yard all the plastic off of my DL650 and start from scratch. I'm just not into the Japanese transformer toy look.

Taking the low road back.

Duckrider,
The fairing is from Italy (those guys that won the Cup, right Mauro?). It's made of fiberglass. The lights are mounted on the instrument backbone and poke through the holes in the fairing. You can probably order KTM fairing parts that are very similar. In fact, I think the Italian unit was copied from the 640 Adventure. Or it must be a generic Dakar fairing.

Jim.

that fairing is exactly like the early 640 adventure fairing (97-99) but solid where the KTM unit has a smoked screen.

A friend of mine got it for me on one of his many trips back to his home country.

What's the possibility of you bringing some more of these tires in? I'd buy at least two sets.

fairing

Jim,

Doesn't your fairing looks quite similar to this one on Frankenbeemer II???
...the soccer world cup, you are right, 24 years I had to wait and suffer in silence. Now my agony is over, at leat for the next 4 years...

It is a good fairing.....considering my freaking crash and how little it got damaged. but I have not painted it yet....

The fairing indeed is molded on the Ktm 640 and elongated to brace the acerbis g/s tank. You then can cut it and do whatsoever...

SInce we are talking about cagiva....

Yep, it is. I cut the lower sections off for mine.

2 spot,

Sorry I didn't call you while in PHX. It was a quick trip through. Man, it's hot down there.

Jim.

This beastie was parked at Laguna Seca yesterday.
I risked life and limb climbing over all the V-Stroms to get this shot!
