My google skills are off today... could someone point me to a place which will show me the Scrambler model differences per year? I'm only looking at FI models, so I'm guessing 2009 and up. I can't find anything, other than the paint scheme (which I don't care about, anyway).

Wow, that looks like fun! Nice collection of bikes. Being of Danish blood myself, I might have to give it a go sometime. If I can just get my Scrambler to Europe.

Scrambler Changes?
Quote:
That may be hard to find as I don't think that there are any significant changes other than the adoption of FI... other than the fact that they stopped painting them and started selling them only in primer. OK, officially it's 'matte' paint, still looks unfinished to me! I guess that they did just start building them with a tach but I haven't seen one in real life. Bruce

2009 is first year for EFI, and two-tone colors went away. Offered only in matte green or gloss black from then on. No real changes until 2012, when the black went to matte as well, and they added double-clock guages... meaning a more traditional speedo/tach side-by-side. Thats about it. |

Wow. Thanks for the replies... so, that makes shopping much easier (as opposed to some dirtbikes which are completely revamped every year).

I think the gauges went from mechanical to electronic sometime between 2011 and 2012 as well.

I wonder if the older bikes can be converted to digital gauges. I am having problems with my speedometer right now and it would solve the noisey speedo cable in cold weather problem.

I'm not sure what you mean by digital, but if you mean electric gages instead of cable driven mechanical, the answer is yes. With the help of D9 the master bracket builder I installed a mini speedo and tach on my 07 Scrambler. Both function electronically.

ehh....
5 kg is not 22 lbs, but more like 11 lbs, right? But still quite a heavy sprocket cover.

Protecting gear lever and break pedal
What do you think of replacing the foot pegs with non foldable items?
