Just be sure to attach the breakline to the caliber first, before bolting it down on the master in the front. Otherwise, you may have some orientation issues. (like my dealer had; I had to fix it myself at home).

Just bleed the breaks with the caliber off the bike, like in the directions..

I would like to know where to get that headlight! (Is it a 6.5 inch (18cm?)) or is it that a bonneville headlight?

Can't let this thread stay idle... Snapped a quick pic today As the bike was warming up, just before a beautiful ride. The weather here has been phenomenal this week.

Super bike xaman! Tell me that no front fender is no big deal. I just need one OK from someone and it comes off.

It's no big deal on days with weather like today!

But even on a bright sunny day last week I ran through a parking lot with some run off from sprinklers and ended up spotting a white shirt, lol. And in the sand It'll sand-blast your nose unless you run full face helmets (my face shield comes back down as soon as I hit gravel or sand).

Just 4 bolts thought, it's painless, and fun.

Crash bars

Anyone have Renntec Engine Bars on a Scrambler? I bought them, but they sure don't look like they will fit (there's not enough room below the headers).
I posted over at the RAT, but haven't heard anything yet.

I haven't tried the Renntec bars...
When I bought my Scrambler, it had the Triumph "dresser bars" on it.
They didn't suit me, so I have 'em for sale in the flea market here...
If the Renntecs don't work for you, let me know, I'm selling mine cheap.

I'll post a full bike shot soon. But here's a video of me navigating a way too rocky run with some dual sporters in Baja yesterday. Tecate to Puerto Nuevo. Laid it down for the first time. No damage thanks to the Upnover, and the New Bonneville running lights.

Hi all. I'm looking to pull the trigger on a new Scrambler but the local dealer informs me that my preferred colour (Khaki Green) is no longer being made & none are available in Australia. Colour option = Black (or the other one that looks like Black)

So my question to the Scrambler collective... are new models released in the northern spring or is a new year release likely? Is Triumph like other manufacturers - new year = new colour options?

I can live with the Black, but if it's only a couple of months until new options might become available then I'll try and excercise self-control. Any thoughts on what's coming up?

Crash protection

Well, I'll answer my own question... Renntec doesn't make bars for a Scrambler, as per New Bonneville. I don't know how I made that mistake.

So, what works best for protection? I'm concerned about low-speed falls on dirt, sand, gravel, etc.

  • Triumph's "dresser bars" (I hear you need to modify them to join the L&R sides to make them stronger).
  • Hepco Becker old school bars (only available in chrome, which is a negative for me).
  • R&G Classic Crash Protectors (basically, frame sliders, but stick out, unlike a puck)
  • LSL Crash Protectors (like a slider puck- not sure what good these would do)
Am I missing any? How do people ride 500+ lb bikes off-road with no engine protection?

How good an all rounder is the Scrambler? I have a 12GS right now, but I'm not riding as much as I used to and have been thinking of the Scram as a replacement. Typical riding style is one or two highway trips a year, some gravel, some around town commuting.

Will I hate it, or love it? Will it suffice on a week long trip? Fire roads?
