Hey guys, a little snippet pasted from my Scrambler thread:
"...I think that must also mean the size of the reserve as printed in the manual is wrong. The manual says reserve is 0.79 U.S. gal. Well 2.881 gal. (what I was able to fit in the tank after hitting reserve) + 0.79 gal. = 3.671 gal. Triumph says it's a 4.4 gallon tank. So that should mean the reserve is more like 1.5 gal. Theoretically given the same type of riding I did today, that would be good for another 75 miles after hitting reserve before you have to get off and push. That would be 220 miles on a tank. What's the farthest you guys have gotten on a tank?" Kind of piqued my curiosity. Anybody done a Kramer and just kept going after hitting reserve to see how far you could go? |

The farthest I ever went on my stock T100 tank was about 130 miles, and that was on reserve. The stock tank either does not hold or does not allow access to as much fuel as is printed in the manual.

I should add that today I went 145 miles BEFORE hitting reserve and when I filled up I filled it all the way up and only got 2.881 gallons in. Last tank was purely city riding and I hit reserve right around 100 miles.
Are the T100 and Scrambler tanks the same size? So maybe the reserve really is 0.79 gallons and the remaining 0.71 gallon is not usable. |

Will get 240km most times prior to reserve. (must take a jerry can with me sometime, and run it dry).
Expect close to 300km at moderate speeds.

Vmd
Anyone else plan on attending Vintage Motorcycle Days @ Mid-Ohio this July ?
The R.A.T. Party @ VMD will be the only factory sponsored R.A.T. event in North America this year. VMD is always a great event and w/ Triumph being the featured marque it should be even better. I plan on camping @ the track all weekend. |

Was out all day riding the Scrambler and it still amazes me how many people stare, wave, point, ride/drive right next to me... Everyone likes this bike
Just thinking out loud here: We like to explore and go into the back country alot, I'm really thinking about taking off the TOR's and going back to the quiet stock pipes. The TOR's sound great in town but there really loud when out in the mountains. Guess I'll decide this week and move on from there.. UP N MTNS

Ordered my tickets and camping pass the other night for VMD. Will be heading up Thursday. Scrambled--Are you up for playing tour guide?
At 2k on my Scrammie I'm hitting reserve at ~135 miles but I know the motor is still a bit tight and I've not switched to Synth oil yet. |
