I have similar figures to Davo

Only mod is TOR's.

I hit reserve at 189km's once, from city riding and commuting.
The stop starts really take it out of the Scrambler more than other bikes I've had.

On the weekend, country roads with my girlfriend on the back I got 250km's before filling up, hadn't hit reserve. I think I only put 11 litres in it? So could I go 300 highway km's without a pillion?

I'm confused!

I'm regularly getting about 245 km on my Scrambler when switching to reserve. Mostly 100km/h 2 lane roads and gravel roads.

Yeah I got a few comments out yesterday. On the way home on 440 through Staten Island a guy in a Gold Wing came up in the left lane - saw him approaching in my mirrors but then I went back to focusing ahead because there was a car in front of me. Riding along and I noticed he had not passed me yet. Quick look to my left and he is riding next to me and staring at the Scrambler. Once I caught him looking he took off.

I'm not much of a tour guide....but I'd be happy to hang out w/other Scramblers......not heading up there 'til Friday. I need to get myself in gear and order my tickets and camping pass. Just got off the phone w/ Mid-Ohio.......FYI....the dude told me that only season pass ticket holders will be allowed to enter the campground before Friday morning @ 7 a.m. and also said that camping spot locations are "first come first serve" so it's best to get there early. I asked if there was a designated Triumph camping area and he said "not that I'm aware of". Did not order my pass yet. Will do some more digging. Anyone else look into this yet ?

I saw this on a Triumph in the UK and decided to do it to my Scrambler. I removed the choke knob (OFF THE BIKE) and cut off the plastic pull knob leaving just the metal shaft, then I drilled out my little 8 ball key chain($1.49) to almost the same size as the shaft.
I heated the shaft up with a propane torch and using pliers pushed the shaft into the 8 ball, melting them together. Re installed new 8 ball choke knob, it works and looks great!!

Looks great but lemme get this straight, you were using an open flame to heat the rod connected to your primary gas flowing device!

You got dice for valve stem caps? That was the first mod I did on Jodie's Bonneville.

I've been know to do some questionable things but I draw the line at fuel and open flame

I am still getting used to people driving/riding next to me to look at the bike. Lots o finger pointing. I find strange poeple standing around it when I go to lunch.

If you want interesting or are good at lip reading:
Park the bike outside a cafe and sit where you can see it. Its amazing how many people walk up to it and stand around talking about it when you arent there.

I don't think so. At least not anything significant. They did change the fuel tank itself in '08 in anticipation of fuel injection but the change is relatively subtle. The mounting points are different.

2006 came with the silver engine/cases 2007, 2008 came with all black engines..
