Those look super, Terry! Make sure you sell those old TORs to someone in the US. We don't want to break the chain.

The pipes are done in high temp powder. The powder claims 2000 degrees but we will have to see.
The heat shields in regular powder and have be done for a while. Phase one was the shields about 3 months ago. Phase 2 were the pipes, mufflers and assorted hardware items. I need a few more phases to,finish. I pulled the shocks off earlier today. I figured out how to get the springs off and will powder this weekend. 2010 that I bought new. Bone stock up until recently. |

I ran Norm Hyde Toga silencers before my Zard. People would walk over from the other side of the parking lot to tell me how good they sounded. I think there are some sound clips on youtube.

under load. The Staintunes are very nice at idle, has a more grunty sound & makes the bike sound like a Triumph & not a HD. They are legal in Australia (ADR approved) 91db @ 3700RPM with the baffles in, 96db out. Don't think I will ever remove the baffles. I have Staintunes on the Thruxton as well & even though they are both listed as 91db the Thruxton is softer....360 crank verses 270 crank, just that thump from the 270 crank. My mate has a Arrow 2-1 on his Scrambler & he likes the Staintunes better. We're off on a ride tomorrow so we can check out the difference. Not cheap @ $1200 aus but worth it, might try to get a video with the gopro & post up.

Interesting you find tor's loud at idle although they definitely bark . I've ridden a Thruxton with staintunes right behind my Scrambler and could only just hear it over the Thruxton at cruise throttle. I was surprised actually. The Thruxton sounded softer as you said. The legal aspect is a big plus although at a substantial price hit....I like the golden glow on yours Was there a noticeable performance difference between the tor's and staintunes? ![]() cheers Mark |
