Pretty picture.

I'm hoping to be in WV in mid October, and hoping for good weather to ride those roads. I hear it can be 40 degrees with sleet, or 70 degrees and sunny --- here's hoping for the latter.

Thanks for the pic.

Anyone ever experience a speed wobble on a Scrambler? I found my bike starting to do it yesterday if I topped 85mph. Its been faster before, just this week too. At first I thought it was just turbulence from the semi I was following, but it did it later too when no one was around. Straight bit of interstate too. Definitely a pucker moment. Easily foresaw myself getting tossed from the bike. Reduced throttle, thinking that if I was going to get thrown, I could help myself out some and slow down, and I was afraid of using the brakes else the bike become more unsettled.

Anyone?

Are you under some misconception that the motorcycle world is the real world?

Never a true wobble, but mine would weave consistently on high speed sweepers, 75mph and up. Mid bumps would only make it worse but never escalated to tank slapper.

Check all the obvious: tire pressures, spokes, wheel bearings, steering head bearings. How are your tires? If its never done it before, maybe it's just worn out tires. Good luck.

Nice pics! Just wondering what bolts/washers you used in place of the rear rack? I'm considering doing the same so looking for ideas. Pictures would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

If you haven't done my fork oil mod then do it before doing anything else. It allows the forks to absorb bumps rather than launching the wheel off them which, IMO, was the reason for instability.

Cheers Manray,

I wanted something unobtrusive, so I decided to use "THREADED BALL KNOBS"!!

Trust me, it took me a while to discover the proper name for these babies, but once you know the correct name, google is your friend.

Just any old bolt fixes them in and you can choose what height you want with spacers.

Hope this helps.

PS. I did try pointed threaded studs. but it just looked ridiculous!
