Hmm...good thought. When I saw my bike lying on it's side, I remembered the picture of the shifter that tore through the engine casing of that one bike a couple hundred pages back, and felt so relieved when I got it back on the stand and learned it never even touched the case. Completely forgot about the shaft itself.

I'll check it out sometime next week. Leaving tonight for Hawaii and Korea.

I just returned from a ride from Indianapolis, IN to Tampa, FL on my 2008 Scrambler. 2131 miles total. I'll write up my impressions in a few days and post it in the Ride Reports section.

My dealer has also built up a trick Scrambler (Maxflhx's Scrambler I believe) so they understand mods.

The manager says if I have a warranty issue I would need to remove the relocated caliper (as in they don't know about it) for warranty coverage.

I think that's just dealer speak. No offense meant to your dealer.

I would completely understand Rhodie's part voiding the warranty on your rear disc, caliper, pads, whatever. But, if your cam cover starts leaking and they tell you the warranty is void because you used an after market part on the rear brake...

I think a member has pointed out that we are protected by law in the states from bs like that. The dealer has to prove that you the owner/rider caused the part malfunction to void your warranty on a particular part. I'm not completely certain, but that's the way I recall.

Rhodie's bracket is a very nice part. You're lucky to have scooped one up Max!

'07 Scrambler.

What do the two wires that connect to the bottom of each carb do? I have been running around with mine disconnected since I rejetted it a few days ago and didnt notice much difference. Is it some type of cold start mixture widget?

carb heater wires I believe.
