Hey Woody, I just sent my crf wheel out from NY. I probably could have found someone closer to me but I like the way you are always around to answer questions. Thanks for all the answers.

Hey Woody, can you help me out with an 06 Triumph Scrambler? I'd like to install a set of Excels and are there any hub upgrades for the Scramy?

Thanks

Hey Woody,

Wanted to let you know I got the wheels today and they look freaking AWESOME!!! I am mounting up my tires on Friday and will take some pictures so inmates can drool over your work.

I do have to say I am a little disappointed that the free t-shirt you said I qualified for wasn't in the boxes.

Thanks man!

Hey Woody,
A couple of years ago, you built me a set of Superlaced 19/17" Excel wheels for my KLR650. I've been thinking about recycling the rear wheel into a Superlaced off-road wheel for my next project. Can the 17x4.25" be turned into an 18x2.15" with a wheel and spoke swap? If so, I'd be interested in sending it back.

One more question. Can you build me a matching Superlaced 21x1.60" on a KX450F front hub? I'd like to go with black rims and to get both hubs powdercoated black while I'm at it.

I'll give the shop a call in a few days!

Thanks!

Is it possible to change the color of the anodizing on my 05' R1150GSA wheels? They are a purple color now.
Eventually, I would like to send them in once they are "well" used as the spokes and rims should be inspected and serviced by an expert. And thats not me.

no problem,,,,re-anodizing goes for $75 to strip and recolor gives a satin finish,,want it shiny black??? add $25 for a polish between the strip and anodize

unlacing circa $30-90,,,,re-lace n true $150

NOTE:all prices each,,,if ya have the old rusty chrome spokes we recommend upgrading to the newer/tougher ss version...same cost as chrome..

a week or two turnaround time

holler

My rims and spokes are corrosion free, but I am going to Prudhoe Bay next month so that may change.
As far as color goes, can a proper blue be done? Or grey?
I can't believe these "purple rain" rims were once blue.
One more question Woody. I removed a 25g BMW weight from the front rim when I installed my new tires. Is this weight for balancing the rim and should be left on while balancing a new tire?

FYI,,there's two schools of thought on this,,,pick your poison

A:some guys leave all the weights on hoping the wheel will balance next time

B: the others remove everything ie all the old wheel weights and start fresh....it's spring time,,, start fresh

I too am interested in the Alpina sealed spoke option.
I have a pair of NOS Akront blue labels that I'd like laced to Guzzi hubs this way.
Given the acute angle of Guzzi spokes, it may be the most sensible option, and then there is the added bene of a tubeless that can still be trued periodically.

Please keep us advised on this possibility.

Cost estimates...

Woody:

I'm planning to build a set of 17" wheels on stock '03 Honda XR650R hubs. A non-bling project; standard tubeless alloy rims are preferable, tube-type if cost is significant. What advice about rims do you have, and a cost estimate for the rims and spokes only, and one for you building them on my hubs.

And...at the other end of the spectrum. What kind of expense might be involved to have you prep a set of CBR spoked wheels for the same application? From what I see from Google search results, it appears to possibly require machining, cush hubs, welding, bearing issues, relocation of calipers, etc. Probably WAY more hassle, time, and money than I'm interested in. Opinion?

TIA
