Hi Woody, Cheers mate, and I will do when it arrives..

Sapim made some really nice nipples, Polyax nipples they were called..the wide part of the nipple is rounded as in ball and socket, so this allowed them to have some articulation in the rim hole but they only go to 14 gauge bicycle sizes...shame

I'm gonna have to do it all myself despite knowing it would be easier to send it to yourself to get done . The cost os shipping form UK to USA would just be prohibitive for me. I am assuming you are in the USA? if yo were UK, then it maybe dfferent

Speak again soon as the hub arrives..An order has been placed..but no idea on even a shipping date yet :(

This 'should be' a tech drawing of it..the only difference with my order is the hub is 10mm wider...but they say the spoke flange is the same......but ...we all know the Chinese...what arrives could be different :(

Did this Sat in the LAB2V on a large rock. Won't hold air any longer. Tips on getting it to seal in the short term?

Fix/replace? Cost? Time to ship, fix and return? All that kind of stuff.

replace?rim R&R circa $450-700 depending on if we have good used rim or new

Time to ship, fix and return? All that kind of stuff.circa 2-3 days turnaround usually,,,S&H circa $30

some folks send the wheel/tire complete..no problem add $25 for R&R n balance

No, the slime didn't work, but I'm sure it made one heck of a mess to clean up.we charge $10-20 to clean up the mess,,,,if you tell us about ahead of time,,,we charge more if you don't tell us you have the snot inside and we have to clean up allt he tools/tire-chamger/floor not to mention our clothes

I have a F800GS OEM front wheel bent. what is the best way to fix the problem and to have a stronger wheel

we rebuild these everyday.. stonger and more durable..

yeah if you bust that one up you've got something else besides a dented wheel to worry about!!!!

Here's one built up on a R100GS front hub, for use on my R80G/S. Put a GS front end on the G/S and hated using the crappy tubeless rim. Besides the original rim was bent....yeah go figure. They are next to impossible to true unlike traditional rims.

I'm considering acquiring a black 77BMW Aluminum Weinmann rim and I'm concerned it may have been weakened in the powder coat process. I was told it was baked at a lower setting for aluminum at something like 250F.

This is a front rim. I know the rears had problems in that time period with cracking around the spoke dimples. What's the likelihood of this rim being compromised structurally?

when in doubt,,,,we prefer anodizing over powder-coating,,because we share similar concerns,,,so i have a balanced set of standards depending on the end result we want to achieve...maximum strength concerns we anodize,,maximum beauty we use both depending on the age/condition of the rims themselves,,,each rim presents a unique challenge....

the lower 250 F temp used certainly is more congenial than the 375 F norm baking temp.

if this wheel is just being ued for a show bike,,,worry not...i wouldn't even worry if it's just for riding around town....i probably wouldn't want to road-race on it much less go off-road with it though

Thanks for your quick reply! I'm actually doing this as a favor for a fellow inmate who powder coated the wrong wheel, and is now looking for the correct one. I've got the one he needs, but am now trying to decide whether to accept his powder coated rim in trade or not. This is for a street bike, so doubt it would get any rough treatment, but still, I'm leaning towards selling him my rim rather than swapping because of the heat/temper issue.

If I bring in my brannd new, never ridder rear wheel off a 2010 KTM 530 Six Days edition how much would it run to put a cush hub in the wheel?

Is the lacing the same or will I need new spokes too?

the cush drive=$499 complete ,,your choice of color no charge,,this will be set up by us and prelubed with H2O proof wheel -bearing grease

superlace n true=$111 on eyear warranty

you will need a better spoke kit=$135 ss n ss spokes/nipples...Zach just informed me that the oem spokes won't work,,,just as well 'cuz we'll use the better spoke pattern on it

I've sent my R1200GS front wheels to you. The Silver original 19", a dinged up black 19" wheel and a tubeless 21" rim, they should get there next Tuesday.
