Oh Fun

I use to watch this kind of competition when I was young, It bring great memories, They even have bigger groups of 5 and even more riders doing choreographs, plus they also play "Football" (as you can see on the video with the green screen at the end)

Thanks for sharing

I wonder if that means camelbaks are cool again now that they give you a speed advantage?

It's pretty comfortable on these chip n seal roads they have around here. Much better than my Cannondale Caad 9. So I end up riding it more.

Weird, I remember this coming up many years ago. I thought they were banned from use.

My camelbak was empty at the end.

My plan was this:

Race hard into the first checkpoint at mile 40something. Then ride my own ride into the second checkpoint at 80something. Then burn down whatever I had left to take down whoever I could until the finish at mil 111.1.

Started out great- got myself into a good chase pack and came screaming into Zumbro falls 8 minutes behind the lead pack.

After that I was happy to note that even though I was out on my own, I was mostly holding my position- very few people were getting by me.

Things sort of fell apart after the second checkpoint though. I didn't have much left to burn down. Plus there was a killer climb up a muddy, rutted up two track right after. I had to stop part way up to clean out my fender to keep my rear wheel rolling. When I got to the top there were guys handing out wine, brie and salami. I almost threw the heck up.

Still, I managed to gather it up and take down two people in the final sprint to the finish and come in 36th.

Guess what 37th place won?

An $800 HED wheelset.

Just like last year!

When I took 38th place.

Still, I got a cool Twin Six Cars-R-Coffins jersey out of the prize box!

Bruce also did pretty good, coming in about two hours behind me. I think we got him hooked on the gravel road racing thing.

Kit, Bruce, and I will all be heading down to the Almanzo next month. If you want to team up again for the Gentlemen's Ride, let me know and we can start making plans!

Didn't get any riding in this weekend. Was playing in my first ever Underwater Hockey tournament. The DC 'B' team of which I was a part got 3rd. Missed playing for 1st by our only loss the entire weekend.

DID ride home this PM. Planning on riding the Roubaix back to work tomorrow AM (in the rain more'n likely) so I can install the carbon top cap I *finally!* got from Specialized. Damn thing cost me $20! If it gets my bars down far enough, it was worth it. If not, there's gonna be a 54cm Roubaix up for sale here shortly.

Weather is better here in Los Angeles and i'm starting to ride my bike to work rather frequently.

Odd question though; i'm looking for a bike mount for my phone, an LG Optimus. It's an Android smart phone that I use as a psuedo bike computer. Can't find anything anywhere. Or am I looking in all the wrong places?

Cheers.

1. yer chain's a link short and...

2. use the fatty part of the palm of your hand where the fingers meet up. Stronger than yer thumbs. IOW: grab the wheel and using the palms of your hands, roll the tire on. Similar motion to doing it with yer thumbs. Yer hands are lots stronger.

3. dig the Dragon sticker on the TT. Betcha lots of cyclists don't know WTF that means.

Thanks for spotting the chain issue. Time for a new one anyway. :

The Dragon sticker has struck up many a conversation with other cyclists that share the moto passion as well as pedal powered. The regular cyclists don't understand it at all.
