Weather is better here in Los Angeles and i'm starting to ride my bike to work rather frequently.

Odd question though; i'm looking for a bike mount for my phone, an LG Optimus. It's an Android smart phone that I use as a psuedo bike computer. Can't find anything anywhere. Or am I looking in all the wrong places?

Cheers.

1. yer chain's a link short and...

2. use the fatty part of the palm of your hand where the fingers meet up. Stronger than yer thumbs. IOW: grab the wheel and using the palms of your hands, roll the tire on. Similar motion to doing it with yer thumbs. Yer hands are lots stronger.

3. dig the Dragon sticker on the TT. Betcha lots of cyclists don't know WTF that means.

Thanks for spotting the chain issue. Time for a new one anyway. :

The Dragon sticker has struck up many a conversation with other cyclists that share the moto passion as well as pedal powered. The regular cyclists don't understand it at all.

Stuff I need to get rid of

Cleaned out a few of my bike boxes in the garage and figured I would put some stuff up here if anyone can use it.

Size 45EU Pearl Izumi attack MTB shoes with SPD cleats. Probably a couple of years old and still in good shape. Two velcro straps and a ratchet buckle at the top.

Two sets of SPD pedals both Shimano, both fairly well used, but some life left in them if someone wanted to experiment with clipless or have a spare set.

WTB Rocket V Gel saddle, nearly new and looks like it came off the shelf.

27.2mm full carbon fiber seat post with a single bolt up top for the saddle adjustment. Normal scuffs and marks from my saddlebag and moving in/out of seat tube. No idea of the brand, just has a single letter "i" on the rear of the post. Came off my CAAD9.

I'd be interested in the seat post, is it 300 + mm in length ?

370mm total length and 270mm from seat rails to minimum depth insertion line.

Not necessarily, how often does someone ride in that gear combination of big ring and big cog?

Me? Today? Lots.

'Course, I'm normally on a 25t big cog and the 'go fast' wheels I have on the Roubaix only has a 23t big cog.

So I rode the bike home last nite. Feh. Them weather guessers are full of it. Its not gonna rain!

Woke up to....

Rain

Since the car's at the shop, I HAVE to ride in. Good thing it was in the 60s. Gore Tex jacket and the thinnest LS jersey I have went on. Leg goop went on.

Fender went on the Roubaix for this trip. Front wouldn't work with where I have the computer sender, so fender singular vs fenderS plural.

Off I went into the rain.

Lemme tell ya... that first rivulet of water that goes between yer toes is OH so special!

Otherwise, the rain stopped for the middle of my ride, then started back up ~20min from the shop.

I got here and was SOAKED. Wasn't wet from the outside, it was sweat from the inside. Least I wasn't miserable OR cold!

...then I proceeded to clean the bike. LOTS of worm guts on it.

How'd YOUR ride go today?

heehee... good chuckle... no really, I'm laughing with you.

Was supposed to race tonight @ the local speedway. WINDY all day with gusts in the 20's, but no rain. No rain that is, until I decide to leave the office and beat feet to the track. As I get within a few miles, the sprinkles start hitting the windshield. I look ahead and see 30' pines bent over at the waist like they are bowing to royalty. The sky is imposing it's wrath and our races get cancelled/postponed for another two weeks... .

I actually had fun today. In spite of, or because of the rain?

I kept hearing the Roubaix yelling 'faster! faster!' at me. Man is that bike a monster or what?! No! Even tho I tried to do a couple of 1:30 intervals, my legs were having none of it.

The Roubaix kept up its deafening shout of 'Allez! Allez!' Or is that 'Venga! Venga?!' Or is it 'Schnell! Schnell?!' Regardless, while it may be more upright than a Tarmac, it ain't a namby-pamby 'comfort' bike.
