Yesterday I hit a big milestone (for me anyway). I hit 1,000 miles for the year. This was one of my goals when I bought my bike and I did it in about 3 months (I bought my bike late in the year) so I am pretty happy with that.

I have been doing about 75-100 miles a week (I did my normal 25 mile loop yesterday although it was bloody COLD - time to put leg warmers on) and the most I have done in a day is about 60.

My average for my normal loop (no hills to speak of but some undulations) of 25 miles has gone up from about 16.5 to 18.5 and it has definitely got easier, not easy, but easier.

Next year I want to hit 1,500 miles, do a century (100 mile day - is that what you call it ?) and do a small triathlon. I also want to do some more mtn biking.

This thread is what prompted me to buy the bike in the first place so thanks to all that answered my dumb questions and helped me out.

I love riding a bicycle nearly as much as I do riding a motorcycle

Cheers....

Congrat's man, that's great weekly mileage, you got me beat. Lately I can't get in more than one day a week.

We still gotta do a winter ride up in your area sometime, we missed ya at the Seven tour.

Thanks Perry.

If you are around on the weekend then a ride around here would be great.

I was so bummed I missed the Seven tour - I was laid up in bed all that day and felt like shit. I PM'd Seven and he said we could do it again any time so I'm thinking next year, in the summer mebbe, a ride and tour would be great.

Might not be for a couple weeks, but I'm gonna try and set up a wknd there.

PS- I was just getting over a really bad cold on the Factory tour too.
ps2- don't go to Seven tour, it'll make you want one really badly...

K picked up said Oschner.

Darker blue than the pics indicated. Kewl. Its got a mix of Mirage RD, ?? f. der, ? friction-only shifters, ? crank and BB that look *real* old skool, Veloce Monoplanar brakes, and of all things a Deore (silver, 600 quality stuff) rear hub and a 105 front hub laced into Sun Mistral clinchers.

Now, the question before the audience is:

Do I get the Campy 9sp stuff (oh, did I mention the rear triangle's 128mm?) and keep the Mirage/Campy mix or do I make it compatible with the stuff I'M running so that if there's an issue we can interchange stuff?

Pics coming when its daylight. Its actually quite the attractive bike.

Hey guys, wondering if I should sell this? Just don't think it would be worth it to sell though. It's more a space issue than anything else. I only use it now around 2 / 3 times a yr, think I'd get alot more use from a cross bike. I love it but I hate to see it not getting used. And it's in excellent shape, just had a complete overhaul, new tires, seat, grease, had upgraded the compos too (few yrs back) .

How much should I ask for it (it's 1999 model), if at all?

Christmas Present Complete

Here is my step-mother's bike from her childhood. I had to replace a lot, but I stripped it down and repainted it. Many destroyed parts because of rust or damage.

Oh crap, I just noticed, I forgot the chain guard. I wonder where I put that damn thing.

OK, you win, yours is newer and fits the advrider people better.

Mine would be like an old H-D hard tail on the trails.

Forgot chain guard

Here it is complete. I forgot the chain guard and decided to take a few new pictures. They really are not good, when I reduce them to fit here, but good enough for everyone to see it.
