I tried some bicycle shoes, such as the Specialized Trail 110, but they didn't have any protection at all.

Now I have some Thor 50/50's. A little heavy, and definitely going to blister for a while, but I think once everything is broken in these are going to be excellent dirt boots for my e-bike.

Well, I am on the third day of no car. My car has been in the garage for three days. Our 4runner has had a total of 85 miles in the last month. I am riding about 4 miles per day over elevation.

I feel better, look better and just plain love it. If it gets below 30 degrees, life sucks...but hey, what can you do?

I had some new forks put on my old trek 850 and the thing rides better than new. My dog loves it too.

Good Job MeterPig!!!!

I am hoping we have another warm day to melt the ice. Fell on my butt again today trying to chip the ice off of the driveway. I am sick of this winter in Southwest Iowa.

We got out on the trails yesterday with the studded tires. Mid 20's. Here is a pic from the frozen Reservoir. I hope it stays real cold so we can get in a few more rides.

Did anyone ride on Superbowl Sunday?

I did 20 miles on the trainer and then headed to work. At 6:00, I am off work and headed to party to have some different beers.

Most definitely! It was almost 40 degrees, and in the fabulous sunshine, felt more like 50 at times! Best day of riding I've had since coming back from Oz

I rode for a good two hours and had roasty toasty toes the whole time.

I rode for 2 hours on a Gary Fisher hardtail borrowed from my lbs.

I haven't ridden in over a year and then pure road.

Greensboro has some nice trails.

In the afternoon, I took the dogs with me on my dirtbike trails near the house. I tried to jump a log, misstimed in and did a header. Luckily, the bicycle landed on me , so no scratches. On the bike. Two dogs licking my face.

I think I could like this mtbing. And the seat makes my ktm feel cushy.

Yeah, if you don't ride a lot, the seat will hurt the sit bones for a while. Getting the correct saddle is very important.

We still have ice on the streets, and getting a light snow right now. I can't wait for spring.

50 Degrees today, and too sick to ride
Supposed to go to a seminar tomorrow evening, and if I feel up to it I should ride there. It is only about 8 miles or so each way, and the streets are clearing enough to ride.

It's invigorating isn't it? That pic is from a buds phone camera. I'm going to bring my camera on future rides. Winter has been great this year!

I rode for a couple hours, including a very fun winding descent that I love (this is pavement, 30-35 mph). My wife rode for a couple more after that- she's going to do the markleeville death ride this year.

I'm still riding my ancient trek 1200- 14 speed shimano 105 with down tube shifters and the original brake pads. I love to hate this bike. I'm going to try to build this klein frame I got into a road bike with a double crank and a 12-32 cassette on back. I need to spin, and the bay area has it's share of hills.

meterpig.... it is funny - when I get "involved" in this bicycle thread, I forget it is part of the motorcycle group

I rode today too - in circles. Was at the Velodrome this afternoon (poo on the stupidbowl) and almost got killed by some guy in need of a ruler to ride a straight line! It felt like a slalom course today.

That would probably be me, if I would ever get to a velodrome.
