I rode 34 miles today which brings the mileage since last Tuesday to about 150. Finally got road pedals installed and matching shoes. Also, got a couple of paris of LG shorts.

Holy Cow! What a difference! The road pedals add quite a bit to the efficiency...I should not have expected different.

The quality shorts were as big of a difference! I never thought that *edit* quality bicycle shorts would be so comfortable! And I got the LG "Aerotex" and the shorts were hardly wet at the end of the ride (17mph average) in 94 degree/80% humidity.

I wish that I'd gotten the road pedals, shoes and quality shorts a year ago.

I'm gonna do a Century in September (not quite up to the Baldy Standard!)...Bikes, I could get in this.

Here are the bikes in my garage for the people staying in my house/yard for RAGBRAI

A bad picture from this morning, because I was busy with music and other crap, so I didn't get many good bicycle pictures. I hope Kurt gets some while riding.

Cool Pictures. My brother and his daughter are the only ones to make it from our little group. I may get on my bicycle by next weekend. I was trying this weekend, but never got far enough ahead on work, work so I could.

This makes twice I've managed to miss this thing.

There will be a new team next year from our family. Right now it will be six riders, but we may have more.

I hope Kurt gets his Team Kiss picture posted later.

Holy cow Vance. Did you have to get a special frame, or was there something made that worked for you? I don't remember your height, but I thought you were over 6'6".

:where'sthebleach?

Seriously. Onya!

Now about them pedals... Gotta get you some 'real' mtn pedals that'll help keep the bike under you when yer off-roading. DAMHIK how easy it is to slip offa them flat pedals yer riding once the trail gets technical.

PAul and I will be ready. I may have a new plastic bike to ride by then. Check that. I'd better have worn out several sets of tires on a new plastic bike by then.

My brother sent me a couple of CD's of this band we were going to go see..

Our band played RABGRAI in Red Oak, and sold some of our new released CD's, and a few t-shirts.

I remember you posting that when I was thinking I was going. I missed a lot of cool this year I expect.

Ah well, there is a plan being hatched for next year.

Think, epic adv 2-wheeled stupidity...

Riding in Tahoe

Well it's my third day of riding from Fallen Leaf Lake in Lake Tahoe, and I decided to do a lap of the lake. From Fallen Leaf Lake, around Lake Tahoe and back, my trusty Garmin 305 told me the following:

82.58 miles, 6223 feet of elevation gained, and taken with a grain of salt...4693 calories consumed. This is my first time in Tahoe, and I'm really enjoying the experience.

I need food.
