What does work? Well, it looks goofy. I take a small microfiber towel, the kind you can get at REI, and roll it like a bandana. It's barely large enough to tie behind my head. When rolled up, it's kinda thick, so it has to ride low on your forehead to allow you to get your helmet on. And mine is a goofy green, so it looks odd.

But the darn thing doesn't drip, holds my sweat like a champ. Did I mention my body's like a lawn sprinkler? I'd moved away from the microfiber towel, hoping the headband would do the trick. But I'm about to move back.
Richard Nixon could have used this advice.

DO it!!!
I just scored some vintage xt chain rings for my bike. Problem was the big one was a 44. I was running a 42... I tried to get away with not moving/adjusting my derailuer for clearance...Pedal, pedal, shift! Hmmm, derailuer isn't far enough up on teh seatpost to clear the new bigring...

Long Story short, I had to move my derailer up about a half inch. Then reattach the cable, and adjust it back into goodness. Took about 30 minutes total!

GO FOR IT!!

So I tried this touring shit this weekend.

Goddam. I have new respect for people that can pull 75+ miles/day and still camp out ever night.

Pulled 200 miles in 2.5 days. Changing a tube with a sprained wrist encouraged me to bail for a hotel on the last night and then head for home a day early. The replacement tube was acting flaky, and pulling the tire off again was going to hurt.

At least I was hardcore the first night.

Fellow traveler.

Riding in the rain for 4 hours is awesome.

Fuck this shit. I'm hoteling it. (Not pictured: Prime rib dinner, hot tub, cold six pack, me standing naked in front of air conditioner)

I need one of them there kickstand things.

I've kinda cooled my jets on that one for a while. The Salsa guy in the tour divide had to do an unexplained frame replacement midway through, could be nothing... but...

Plus, these last two weekends I've learned that flat bars aren't really going to hold me back at all if I want to log some serious off-road miles, and even so- 35c tires are plenty for whatever I'm willing to get into with a loaded touring bike anyway.
